Title: Light
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter?

Summary: And It Was Over.
Light.
He recognized that light.
The same light had haunted his memories for so long.
He'd know that light anywhere.
It was that light that had killed his parents.
Killed Cedric, Mrs. Weasley, Dumbledore…
Hermione.
He was almost relived to see it.
Times had slowed down as those last two curses flew from their wands.
He watched as the body in front of him fell. Its last curse heading towards him.
There was no use dodging it.
Voldemort was dead. It was all that mattered to him.
He'd spent years waiting for this moment.
It had felt so much better, triumphant when he had imagined it.
But now, in the last milliseconds of his life…he felt nothing: hollow and empty.
He watched as the bright green light rushed towards him, felt the scar on his forehead prickle.
He knew he was going to die now. He didn't care.
His job was done.
So, as the Unforgivable flashed towards him, he simply smirked.
As it hit him, he didn't scream.
And, when they searched and found him, his face wouldn't be trained in terror.
As his spirit lifted out of his body, passing his best friend's on the way, he simply stared down at the bloodied field, impassive.
It was finally over. And Harry had finally won.
