It was a quiet night for the village hidden in the leaves. The security patrols were enjoying an easy nights work, the lights in the streets were growing dim, and in a certain house, something special was happening.
In one of the many bedrooms of the Hyuga mansion, lady Hinata, heiress to the Hyuga clan, was having a sleepover.
This wasn't just any sleepover though; the only person with her was one blonde haired, knuckle headed shinobi whom she thought the world of.
Uzumaki Naruto had been the object of her desire for longer than she cared to remember. But tonight she would tell him how she felt.
"Umm, Naruto-Kun, do you want to listen to some music?" She asked him quietly.
Naruto was so dazed by the fantastic ramen he had just inhaled (she had thought it cute), and so could only manage a simple nod and grunt of agreement.
Hinata quickly jumped up and headed for her CD player, she had the perfect song in mind,
'It's now or never' she thought 'if he doesn't feel the same…'
She scanned through her rather large collection, ranging from Busted to the likes of Metallica and 16Volt, until she came to the one she seeked.
She put it into the player and hopped onto her bed, grabbing the remote, skipping through a few tracks until she found it, her song.
A slow, relaxing acoustic riff began to seep from the speakers, and Naruto perked right up instantaneously, 'he must like the song too' She thought happily.
A deep voice then began to sing slowly:
I wanted you to know, that I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
After these first two lines, surprising Hinata greatly, Naruto began to sing along, growing bolder as the lines went by.
I keep your photograph; I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
His voice was gruff, with a definite growl to it; she could tell he didn't usually sing along to things like this.
'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel light when you're gone away
'Now' Hinata said to herself, she would sing to him, passionately enough to get her point across.
The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
She moved off of her bed and over to, a now fully awake, Naruto, making her intentions clear. She closed her eyes slightly and continued to sing
There's so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
With the last word, she had done something she had not intended, she stroked his cheek gently.
Naruto blushed, though not nearly as much as Hinata, yet they kept on singing to each other.
Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
By the time this chorus had finished, the pair were lying on her bed, arms wrapped around each other, hugging and gently caressing.
"Uuum, n..n..Naruto-Kun, I...I…" she tried her hardest but she just couldn't find the words
"I love you Hinata-Chan" "Naruto said suddenly, taking her by surprise.
She was in shock, overjoyed, and blushing a deeper red than most tomatoes all in one go. She buried herself into his chest and hugged him tightly.
The remainder of the night was spent in a midst of hugs, cookies and chocolate ice cream.
