"Hey there"

"Gabriel. Thank goodness. Naomi is going insane, I can't believe I left those papers at your house..."

"Whoa, whoa wait up, man. Who're you looking for?"

There was a very awkward pause. Then the stranger on the line spoke again.

"You… You are not Gabriel."

"Sorry to disappoint you."

"I apologize for the inconvenience."

The line clicked. In the silence, Dean chuckled at the serious tone of the stranger who had just called him by accident. He sighed and shook his head, and was just turning away when the phone rang again.

"Gabriel, you gave me the wrong number!" It was the same deep voice, sounding slightly more irritated this time.

"Dude, it's still me."

"Oh! Oh. I'm very sorry."

Dean was trying his absolute hardest not to laugh at the poor flustered stranger.

"don't be sorry. This is the most entertainment I've had all day."

"I am glad that my troubles are a source of enjoyment for you...?"

"Dean. My name is Dean."

Dean suddenly realized it was perhaps not the wisest move to give out his name to a complete stranger, however it was late and the stranger's voice was... Wow. He really needed to get out more.

"I am Castiel"

Oh. Alright then.

"Castiel huh? And the guy you're calling was… Gabriel?"

"My brother. Yes. My father gave all of us angel names. That was about the only thing he gave us."

There was a pause.

"Sorry. I got carried away. You do not need to hear of my family troubles. In fact, I do not know why I'm still talking to you. I'll go now. Sorry to bother you."

"No!" Dean said, then realized it sounded a bit desperate.

"I mean, you don't have to. My dad isn't winning any parent of the year awards either, though we did manage to escape with normal names at least."

"We?"

"Me and my brother. Sam."

"Ah."

"So... Anyway, what's the big emergency you need Gabriel for? Something about a Naomi?"

"My boss. Yes. I had the files for one of the animals, and I left it with Gabriel. Of course, it was the one file she needed right away, so...here we are."

"The animals."

"Yes, I work at Animal Haven Vet clinic."

"Got it."

"I am just an intern right now. I have worked there since I was 15. I like to help, and I find I get along better with animals than with humans"

An animal lover. Could this guy get any more adorable?

"Huh. Well I mostly work on cars, but I guess we're both fixing things, right?"

"I suppose. Although a car is statistically less likely to scratch your face off when you try to take his temperature."

Dean couldn't help chuckling this time. "That happen a lot?"

"More than you would expect"

They both laughed now, and Dean felt suddenly warm inside. He smiled nervously, then realized the man on the phone could not see him.

"Well, Cas... Not that your company's not charming , but it is 11 o'clock at night..."

Dean could almost hear Cas start at this. "Right. And I still need the papers from Gabriel. I suppose I'll have to call one of my other brothers to get his number since it would appear he has given me the wrong one."

"Right. Well… Hey, Cas. This is probably really forward, but do you wanna meet up sometime? I mean, if you don't want to, that's fine. I probably sound really creepy… I'll just..."

"Wait, Dean…"

"Yeah?" Dean felt a fluttering in his chest that was completely disproportionate to the amount of time he had spent with this guy.

"I would like that."
