Forever
Hiroto's p.o.v.

Today is the day, and I'm nervous as hell. I pat my thighs with my hands, touching the little black box that's in my right pocket.

I've been up for two hours, preparing breakfast, dressing and well, being nervous, if you don't count the few hours I've slept. Mido-chan is still in the bathroom, doing God knows what.

"Come on, it's just a sakkamatch, the queen isn't coming."

He throws the door open.

"JUST a sakkamatch?! Hiroto this is THE match of the year!"

I can't help but chuckle at his protest.

"Well anyway, are you done?" He gives me the pokerface-with-squeezed-eyes-because-you-just-ruined-my-statement-face before stepping out and letting out a deep sigh.

"Yes I am, we can go mister never-on-time-except-today."

I poke my tongue out to him and he giggles. He looks stunning in just his jeans and a green T-shirt that matches his hair, which is in a ponytail instead of a bun, which almost makes me think that he knows what I'm going to do after the match.

Though I know he has no clue, the fact that his ponytail and way of dressing reminds me of the boy I fell in love with so many years ago.

"Well if it isn't just a match then why don't be on time?"

I wrap my arm around his waist when we walk out of the door, into the spring sunlight. By the time we arrive at the stadium, Mido-chan is almost jumping out of excitement, with this boyish spark in his eyes that only makes him more adorable.

"I can't wait to see the team play! It's been way too long since I've seen a good match!" he squeals.

Once inside, we bump into a big guy while trying to find our seats.

"Oi, gomenne."

Mido-chan scratches his neck and smiles up at the guy, I swear his eyes softened at the moment -I'm serious- because he smiled back and stepped aside.

Mido-chan sits down and pulls me onto my seat as well, hard plastic chairs in the colour of the Japanese sakkaclub. It might not sit very nice but the match is worth it, I think...

Honestly my mind is kinda off this all and I can only think of the words 'when is the right moment?'.

The right moment would be after the match, that is the only thing sure, but where, and how? I have made up millions of things to say but I know that I won't use any of those when the moment is there.

After the match, something happens, luck seems to be on my side when we are allowed to go onto the field. Mido-chan clenches my arm until I wonder if there's still blood in it.

"This is unbelievable! Can this day get any better Hiroto?"

He looks at me and I know that now is the moment.

"Well," I say while taking the small box out of my pocket and kneeling down.

"It'd make my day if you, Midorikawa Ryuuji, the love of my life would say 'yes' when I ask you; will you marry me?"

His eyes widen and I see tears coming up as he holds his hand in front of his mouth. I can't help but shyly smile at him, making his and my own cheeks heat up.

"Y-yes."

His voice is soft and slightly higher than normal but he says it. He straightens and takes in a deep breath.

"Yes!" He's determined, with a bright smile on his face.

I stand up and take his hand. Placing the ring around his finger, I can see tears slipping from the corners of his eyes.

"Oh my God..." he softly says. "That's why you were so nervous."

My head snaps up.

"Was it that obvious?"

He giggles and nods. I grab his waist and press my lips to his. He said yes, he said yes for real, now I can finally say that I'll be with him forever.
