Before.

She's been with him through thick and thin. The night before his deed was to be done, he'd cried himself to sleep, falling into the deep peaceful slumber using her as his pillow.

He cooed her all morning long, she stood with him and she and him saw his little brother off to the academy. They spent their entire day together, playing, fighting, and just having pure fun in the company of the other.

He shushed her and told her to stay quiet, and slid the sliding door shut behind him.

She listened to his younger brother cry out in anguish and fear not too far away; her first instinct was to run to him, but he had told her to stay put; she knows good and well he knows what he's doing, he thinks it's all for the best. Anything for the village.

The night stilled, and all she could hear was the choking sobs of the younger boy, and those too quietly silenced. She crept from the room after having a struggle with opening the giant door.

She watched the younger boy all night from the shadows. Waiting for him to wake. A shadow engulfed his sleeping form. She saw two Anbu Black Ops, and the villages old Advisors.

"Kill him. He could be very well be much like the rest of them for all we know." The old man spoke.

One of the Anbu's raised a katana over his head, the moonlight catching the blade and causing it to glisten in a sickly way that made her flinch.

She lept from her hiding spot and landed in fromt of the defenseless, sleeping boy. The hair on her back bristled up, and a hiss erupted from her throat.

"Well.. if it isn't the brothers' guardian." The old woman sighed, fanning herself.

She continued hissing, trying to speak with the elders, but failed.. being she was just a lowly cat.

"Come. We'll speak in private, with the Old Cat herself." The old man said.

The blonde cat looked back to the Raven-haired boy behind her and whined slightly. The Anbu picked him up gently, and laid him over his shoulder.

"Don't worry, we'll bring the boy. He'll never leave your sight. Now come. We're going to the warehouse."

The second Anbu demanded as the 5 of them walked out of the clan's compound.
