Come Again?

"Not Again."

Harry Potter sighed under his breath. He was tired of watching the same scene unfold before his eyes every single week of the year. He knew his best friends liked each other, but they sure had a hard time showing it sometimes. This specific banter had been going on for a few minutes now.

"He is a MALFOY!"

"Ron, I have been seeing him for SIX MONTHS now. Get over it! He is not going anywhere!"

"But…he's a…he's…for heaven's sake, Hermione, he's Draco Malfoy."

"Does that make him any less a person?"

Their voices were getting louder and louder. The whole apartment complex could probably hear them now, but Hermione and Ron carried out as if there was no one else in the world.

"I simply refuse to let you see that slime."

"And since when have you the right to TELL ME WHAT TO DO?"

" SINCE NOW! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SEE DRACO MALFOY!!"

Harry was positive that the whole of London was listening now, Hermione and Ron were so loud that his own ears were hurting.

"I refuse to be ordered around like, like, some child, Ron. I will see WHO I like and YOU can do absolutely NOTHING about it."

"FINE, then. Be that way. I just suppose that I cannot be associated with you anymore."

They stood there for a minute. Ron stood, his face color matching his flaming hair, his hand clenched into fists. Hermione, her face a tad bit flushed, her hair sticking out in places. She then crossed her arms and spoke.

"If that is the way you want it then, so be it."

In one fluid motion, she grabbed her purse, turned, and without a single glance back, walked out the door.

"Can you believe her? Can you believe the nerve? She's dating Draco! Our arch-nemesis! What has become of the world?"

"Don't you think…er…that you're…er…overreacting?"

"OVERREACTING?"

"Well…um…yes, Ron. I think that you're overreacting. Hermione's a grown woman now and I think she can choose who she wishes to see."

"Well, she IS a grown woman but she's seeing DRACO."

"Um…yes, Ron. She is."

"Draco as in MALFOY. Draco MALFOY. Harry, is this getting through to you? Draco MALFOY."

"He's changed, you know. Ever since the war-"

"I don't want to hear about the war, Harry. I'm just going to go get a drink now. I need to clear my head."

Harry watched his friend's back in amusement. Ron had been acting strangely for awhile now, ever since he had met that Melissa girl. He always seemed distracted, and got easily irritated. Sighing, he thought of the more important matter at hand: he had to find Hermione.
