I began my day wandering through the town of Lumbridge looking for some work. I wandered for many hours because I was not able to find work that I was capable of completing. As I passed through the town I came upon a small farm that looked friendly and inviting. I walked into the farmhouse and began talking to Farmer Fred. I asked if he had any work for me and I was elated when he asked me to shearer some sheep and spin it. This was work that I was sure that I could do. I agreed to the work and went on my way.
Farmer Fred had very specific instructions for the work I was to do. The first instruction was to shearer 20 black sheep, so I headed to the sheep pen to find some black sheep. I was so happy that I had found a job and that it was work that would require me to spend most of my time outside in the sun. I love spending time outside, so this job would earn me money and be enjoyable. As I was thinking about all of this I wandered into the sheep pen, found two black sheep, and then realized that I had nothing to shear the sheep with. I had just begun the work and I was already having trouble. I gave myself a stern talking to about staying on task and not daydreaming anymore. After all, I needed this job because I needed money. Then I went back into Farmer Fred's farmhouse and borrowed a pair of his shears from the table.
I went back outside at a much faster pace and went right to the sheep pen. I got to work shearer twenty black sheep. I must tell you that the job was much harder than I anticipated. The sheep were not happy to see me coming, and they were much faster than me. I definitely got a good work out chasing the sheep back and forth. After I sheared all twenty black sheep and had all of it in my backpack I headed to Lumbridge castle. I had a twin sister that had helped the cook of Lumbridge castle make a cake, and she had told me that I could find a spinning wheel in the castle.
I began heading to the castle on foot, daydreaming again, when I ran into a friend. This is friend informed me that I could teleport to the castle and it would be much quicker. At this point in time I paused trying to decide what to do. I really enjoyed being outside and I was looking forward to the long walk to the castle. However, I realized that I would probably daydream the whole way and it would take a while to get to the castle. I reminded myself that I was on a mission to make some money and that efficiency was essential. I thanked my friend for the suggestion and she taught me how to teleport.
I then teleported to the castle, which I must admit was a very exciting experience. To start in one place and instantly end up in another place is very exhilarating, but it also takes your breath away. I took a moment to catch my breath, and then headed into the castle. I had a momentary thought about seeing the cook and asking about my twin sister, but I decided to head right to the spinning wheel. I had the task done in no time, and decided that as a reward for being on task, I would walk back to Farmer Fred's house.
I took my good old time, enjoying the lovely weather and the sites around me. Before I knew it, it was almost the end of the day. I rushed to Farmer Fred's house and delivered all of my hard work. He seemed slightly irritated that it took me so long, but he held back his irritation and paid me for my work. I left his house with my payment in my backpack feeling much richer than the day began. The lesson I learned from this: Stop to smell the roses and enjoy the day, but make sure that you are also able to get your work done.
