it started at a simple, high school party. that damn, simple party. it was fine until they spotted Rhonda and the foreign exchange student, Shawn in the closet.

that damn closet with the brown door, opening slowly revealing the two teenagers in love. everyone pretended to be shocked but they all saw it coming.

one couple making out in the closet started people who barely knew each other acting like they've been dating for months. they put everyone's name in a bucket. two by two, people were called to go in scared and come out with stupid looks on their faces.

the end of the party was nearing. only four names remained in the bucket.

"stinky and... Lila!" after Eugene called their names and they left for the closet of do, the two were never to be seen again. no, they didn't die. stinky was planning to move away the next morning, and he took Lila with him. apparently, things went very well in that closet. both helga and arnold knew they were next. neither of them knew who they'd be with.

six long minutes later, arnold sat near helga on a black couch. they started talking but the second their conversation really got anywhere, the timer went off.

stinky was standing there in the doorway, light pink lipstick smeared on his collar and lips. clearly, they had a busy seven minutes.

Eugene put his hand back in the bucket to reveal the final two names. helga and arnold tensed up.

"our final baby makers are..helga and arnold. woah. who would've thought?"

they both looked in each other's eyes, unsure of what to do. slowly, the pair made their way to the dark closet with a small light. it was just enough to see and almost set a romantic feel.

Eugene closed the door, winking at arnold. arnold and helga stood there, confused and scared. oh why had they chosen to go to this stupid party?

the same thought swam through their heads, what to do next. "so I guess we're supposed to make out or something..," arnold said.

"yeah, or something."

they moved closer to each other. to helga, it felt like the walls were closing in. she wanted to get out of this hell. she was getting claustrophobic in the first 30 seconds of this horrific seven minutes.

"so.. do we just do it now?"

"I guess," helga replied, half hoping he didn't hear that.

arnold reached his hand out for helga's waist. the movement shocked her. she wasn't used to having his warm hands on her, it made her shudder.

they both leaned in, afraid to make the wrong move. arnold had one hand on helga's waist and the other softly touching her face. helgas arms were wrapped around arnold's neck.

slowly, they leaned in more and more. then, their lips touched. this wasn't the first time they kissed, but this time they were in a normal setting. before, it was for a show or play. once they kissed in the jungle after helga helped arnold find his lost parents.

the kiss was short but sweet. it lasted a few seconds but both of them smiled the whole time. helga and arnold pulled away at the same time. she looked up into his eyes. through the years, arnold had a few inches taller and surpassed helga's height.

"you're a good kisser," helga whispered. the compliment made arnold blush deeply.

"so are you."

helga smiled. it was strange for arnold to see helga being so nice. she grew out of bullying him but that doesn't mean she was necessarily kind.

"so..shall we continue?"

"if you want to."

"oh, I want to."

helgas mind was racing. arnold wanted to kiss her. arnold, who she loved since pretty much the beginning of time, wanted to kiss her. it felt unreal for her.

this time, she led the way. the second kiss was longer and more romantic. two kisses turned into a lot. after a few minutes they grew tired. neither of them had ever made out. it was rare if one of them even kissed someone's cheek. for them, it was like a whole new world.

it was after they paused when they heard people outside talking. "I wonder how long until they realize there's no timer for them." alone, the fact that it was Eugene saying that shocked them. they wondered if that was his idea.

helga went into bitch mode. the second she saw Eugene, she'd go off on him. to be fair, he did deserve it. it was a really dirty trick he pulled them.

helga opened the door before arnold could say a thing. "excuse me, what?!"

you could see immediate fear in Eugene's eyes. he knew what was coming, and there was nothing he could do about it. helga started swinging her arms to pinch or at least hit the red headed boy.

arnold had to be the one to stop her. he grabbed her arms, turned her around, and kissed her. this time, it was in front of everyone. they only kissed in front of people for performing. everyone grabbed their phones and began recording and taking pictures of them.

arnold knew what they were doing, but he and helga didn't care. the kiss finally ended after what felt like forever to someone watching it.

helga blushed deeper than she ever had before. this was the best and worst party of her life. everyone put their phones back or at least stopped recording. in just a few.minutes, the entire school and then some would know about them.

"so does this make us like.. a couple?"

"helga, I like you. I've been liking you for a long time. like, I think you could call this love. you're the sweetest, most beautiful, and amazing person on the planet. I would do absolutely anything for you. of course, as long as you want to, this makes us a couple. I love you. I'm in love with you."

"I..I..I love you too."

everyone around them was staring at them, one girl even recorded arnold's speech. the crowd was talking about how cute they were to the point where it was annoying.

only 15 minutes passed until they were sick of all the attention so helga suggested to go outside. arnold agreed and they sat in the back of arnold's truck.

"it's so nice out here, not too hot, not too cold."

arnold nodded in agreement. "it's almost as perfect as you, my love." helga started blushing again. she snuggled up against him and laid on his chest. arnold put his arms around helga and kissed her on the forehead. it was the perfect night.
