Chapter 1
The Enchanted Forest…
"Snow!" Charming yelled. "You have to go now!" He told her, then turned to Regina. "Help her to the nursery. She won't be able to make it alone, not with all the knights that keep appearing."
Regina nodded and helped Snow off of the bed. "Come on Snow."
"Wait." She said. "I need to say goodbye." Regina rolled her eyes, but helped Snow over to David, so they could say goodbye. "Charming." She cried.
David turned around, his own tears brimming in his eyes. "Take care of our girl Snow." He placed his sword in his sheath and leaned down to kiss his wife's pregnant belly. "I love you Emma." He stood up straight again. "I love you Snow."
"I don't know how to say goodbye." She said, tears pouring down her cheek.
David cupped her face in his hands. "This isn't a goodbye, my love. You will always find me, just as I always find you." He leaned in and kissed her passionately. "I will see you again Snow, we all will. I love you both."
Snow and Regina made their way to the wardrobe- Regina putting anyone that got in her way to sleep. When they arrived Snow was standing outside the wardrobe. "It's a little… small."
"Snow." Regina groaned. "Now is really not the time to complain."
She nodded. "You're right." She said, as Regina put a spell over the door so no one could enter.
"Wait, Snow." Regina said and Snow turned to face her. "I'm going to do something for you." She said. "I am going to give you fake memories. Don't fret, you'll still have your real ones, you'll still remember your precious Prince Farming. These new memories will just help you to survive in the place you're going. I asked my mirror for… call it a preview of this new land and it's… strange, beyond strange. You're also going to need this." Regina held her hand out and paper money appeared in her hand.
She gave it to Snow. "What is this?"
"It's currency for the land you're headed to. A land without magic."
Snow nodded. "Why would they make currency so fragile?" Snow asked, but shut up after seeing the annoyed glare of her step-mother. "Thank you Regina."
"Give me your head." She said. Snow raised an eyebrow and Regina actually laughed. "I need to give you your new memories Snow." She smiled sheepishly and Regina took Snow's head in her hands and within seconds Snow had an entire new set of memories. "Well?"
"My name is Mary Margaret Blanchard." Snow said with a small smile.
Regina nodded. "Okay. Get in, so you can start your new life. You'll be okay Snow. If anyone can survive this, it's you." Regina held her hand out and the baby blanket that Granny knit for Emma appeared in her hands, along with a book, titled 'Once Upon a Time'. "Take these."
Snow smiled at the sight of the baby blanket. "I can't believe I forgot it in my chambers." Snow gasped.
"I think crossbow would forgive you." Regina rolled her eyes. "We were a little busy." Snow smiled. "This is to help with Emma's belief." Snow nodded at her step-mother. "Goodbye Snow." Regina was just about to shut the wardrobe, when the heard Charming outside the door.
Regina waved her hand and David appeared in the magically locked room. "Good! You're still here! I want you to take this."
"A locket?" Snow asked, taking it from her husband. "Charming…?"
David smiled at his wife. "Open it Snow."
She obliged and was about to cry. It was a picture of Snow and David from just under a month ago. Snow was- obviously- very pregnant and David had his hand placed on her belly. They had even convinced Regina to join the picture. Red and Grumpy were in the picture too- as Emma's godparents. "It's beautiful." She whispered.
"I want our daughter to have it. She should have a visual of where she's from." He said, Regina happened to get a glimpse of the photo and was in tears herself. "Of her family." He said glancing up at his step-mother-in-law with a warm smile of his face.
"Kiss me." Snow said and Charming happily obliged. "We will find you. We'll find all of you. I promise. No matter how long it takes, we won't give up. Ever."

Eastport, Maine
Snow, no- Mary Margaret climbed out of a tree in Maine. "We can do this Emma." She said rubbing her belly. She thought she was alone, but she nearly jumped out of her skin when she saw a very familiar 7-year old boy standing there. "Pinocchio?"
"Your majesty." The boy bowed, despite the tears streaming down his face. "I'm sorry my queen. I'm so sorry." He cried.
Mary Margaret couldn't help but pull the child into a hug. "Pinocchio. What's going on honey?"
He wiped his tears away. "Papa made the blue fairy lie." He cried. "He said he wouldn't build it unless I could go through too. He just wanted to save me. I'm sorry your majesty."
She was shocked and angry, but she couldn't really be angry at Pinocchio- or even Gepetto for that matter- if it were Emma, she and Charming would've done the same thing. "Pinocchio. It's okay. I'm not upset with you." She said wiping his tears away. "We were transported to a new land. There's no magic here. My name is no longer Snow White, I'm Mary Margaret now. I'm not a queen or royalty anymore. I'm just Mary Margaret Blanchard. And you… you're… August… Blanchard. You're August Blanchard and you're my son."
Pinocchio nodded, but didn't totally understand. "Isn't that lying though?" He asked her.
"If we were home, it would be. We aren't home though. In this land, we get new names, everything's new."
He nodded again. "I understand." They began walking until they reached a street. "Woah! What's that?" He asked pointing to a car.
"That's a car Pin… August, it's like a carriage. Only you're more protected inside and it doesn't require horses. Are you understanding?"
"Yes, but I thought that there was no magic here."
She smiled at him. "A lot of things here will seem like magic August, but it's not. It was built by regular people."
"Like papa and I build things?" He asked. Mary Margaret nodded. "Do I call you mama?" He asked.
"You can call me mama or you can just call me mom. It's up to you."
He nodded. "I've never had a mama. I've always had a papa and no mama. Now I have a mama and no papa." He sighed. "Mama, I miss my papa."
"I know you do August." She crouched down and hugged him. "I miss everyone too, you know."
August melted into his new mother's embrace. "I like having a mama. I get lots more hugs."
Mary Margaret laughed. "I like being a mama." She told him, after a few minutes, she broke the hug. "Are you hungry?" He nodded. She pointed to a building across the street. "That's a diner. They sell food."
"Like a market?"
She shook her head. "No. They have market's here. This place- a diner- serves you food that's already cooked. They give it to you when it's still hot. You wanna give it a try?" Mary Margaret asked and August nodded. August tried crossing the street without looking both ways. Mary Margaret was quick to pull him back. "August, whenever you're at a street, you always have to look both ways, you have to make sure there are no cars or other vehicles."
"I'm sorry mama. I didn't know." He said.
Mary Margaret sighed. "That's okay." She looked both ways and waited for a few cars to pass, then they both crossed the street and entered the diner.
"Just find a seat. I'll be with you an a moment." A woman with long brown hair called from behind the counter.
They found their way to a vacant booth and they both sat on the same side, August- who was absolutely terrified of the new place- scooted in close, practically on Mary Margaret's lap. "There's nothing to be scared of Aug." She whispered in his ear. "I know it's new and different, but nothing's going to happen to you." She promised and felt him relax against her.
The woman from behind the counter came over to them. "Hey there, I'm Sierra. I'm gonna be your waitress today." She handed August a kids menu and Mary Margaret a regular menu. "Do you guys know what you want to drink?"
"Hot cocoa with a dash of cinnamon please." Mary Margaret answered and chuckled at Sierra's raised eyebrow. "It's just a little quirk of mine."
Sierra nodded. "What about you buddy?" She asked August. "You want hot chocolate too?" August nodded. "Cinnamon?" She questioned and August made a face of disgust and shook his head, causing both woman to laugh. "Alright then. I'll be back in a moment with your drinks."
"Thank you." Mary Margaret said, then Sierra walked away.
August looked over at Mary Margaret a few minutes after the waitress walked away. "Mama? What are we gonna do after this?"
Mary Margaret was absentmindedly rubbing August's back with her left hand and rubbing her belly with her right. "I'm not sure Aug. First we have to find somewhere for shelter. It's getting late."
Just then the waitress came over with two mugs of cocoa. "Here you go. Listen uh… I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but… do you guys not have a place to stay?"
"We have money." Mary Margaret immediately said. "We just… we just got here." She said, putting an arm around August.
"I mean no harm. Honest." She said. "My dad owns the place- I mean, he's never here, but he owns it, I just run it. Anyways- We have a two-room apartment upstairs. It's not much, but maybe I can arrange for you guys to stay there free of charge, you'd just work instead of paying. We'd only be taking a small amount out of your paycheck."
Mary Margaret smiled. "Are you sure? I mean, I- we don't want to intrude."
"Nonsense." She said. "How far along are you honey?"
Mary Margaret continued rubbing her belly. "I'm due in just under a week. I don't think I'll be able to work just yet." She admitted.
"Don't worry about it. My offer still stands." Sierra told her. "What do you say?" She asked.
Mary Margaret smiled. "I say yes. My name's Mary Margaret Blanchard, this is my son- August."
