Heyo lovely people! Here is my newest pic! I have been contemplating this for a while, and realized I really want to bring this story together for the long haul. So yay!:) I would just like to say two things. One: This story pick up in season 2 at the episode Rose. Second: I will take my time in writing these chapters but don't worry they will be written, hope you all enjoy!:) (Sorry if its a bit short)
"When is a monster not a Monster?
When you love it."
A coin flip.
That is what people said my life would be. Ever since the Salvatore name was stained with vampire blood, they said that one day, the world will flip a coin. Will I turn out like Damon? Or will I turn out more like Stefan? But what they do not know, is that my brothers are more alike than most know. If I turned out like one, I would also resemble the other. One was called evil, the other noble. But then, there was a time when the roles were reversed. That's the thing with Salvatores. We always seem to be, half heaven, and half hell.
It was late in the evening when I finally heard the doors open. Tossing my book onto the bed, rushing down stairs I found Damon standing in the living room, pouring a glass of bourbon.
"Damon, you're back." I smiled before walking towards him, my dark, almost black hair draped over my shoulders in natural waves, "is everything alright? Where's Stefan?" I glanced around noticing the vacancy of my other brother, "is Elena alright?"
"Everything's fine, Mira." Damon answered, as I took a place on the couch, "Stefan is dropping her off at home." I studied him for a moment, watching him look over the bottles of bourbon. People would always tell me that I looked more like Damon. Dark hair, blue eyes. But he always said I looked like our mother.
"What happened?" I seated myself on the couch, waiting for an answer while Damon took a long gulp of bourbon.
"Short version?" Damon turned towards me, "some vampires kidnapped Elena and took her to an abandoned house."
"I knew that. " I answered leaning back into the couch.
"Then, when we got there," Damon poured himself another drink, "there was this really…cocky dude in a suit. Slightly terrifying. Stefan emptied about five stakes into him, and he die." He shrugged, "he had Elena and the other vampire."
"So what did you do?" I asked concerned about the events that unfolded while my brothers had insisted that I stay home.
"Dug a coat rack into his chest. Finished. Gone. Dead." Damon finished his drink before setting back on the counter, "now if you shall excuse me, I have something I need to do." Not giving any other explanation, he was gone. Shortly after Damon left, Stefan came back.
"I thought you would be with Elena." I shifted to look at him from the couch.
"She, wanted to be with Jeremy." Stefan let out a deep breath before coming to sit next to me on the couch.
"You okay?" I asked quietly, "I really wished you would have let me go, I could have helped." Stefan shook his head, "I'm glad you weren't there. We had a run in with, a…"
"Vampire in a suit?" I asked, "Damon told me."
"Yeah, him." Stefan answered, "his name was Elijah, and honestly he must have been pretty old." He opened his mouth to talk again but stopped when something flashed through the house.
"What was that?" I jumped up and looked around.
"Damon?" Stefan called, but no one answered, "Mira." He grabbed my hand, and pulled me to his side, as he picked up a stake from a desk.
"Who's there?" He called his eyes scanning the room. Slowly a girl walked out from the shadows. Her hair was brown, and short .
"I'm not here to hurt you." She spoke, her voice tinted by an accent.
"Why are you here?" Stefan asked, clearly recognizing her.
"Lexi, once told me you were on of the good ones." She spoke, coming a bit closer.
"You knew Lexi?" Stefan questioned his voice growing softer.
"Trevor was my best friend." She replied, "For 500 years, I have lived with one person, and now he's gone." After Stefan stayed silent she took a few more steps, "and I don't want to run anymore, because I don't have where else to run to."
"Well," I'm sorry but i can't help you." Stefan shook his head, the stake still in his hand.
"I don't need your help." Rose shot back, "but I think you need mine. Elijah may be dead, but this isn't over."
"What do you mean it's not over?" Stefan questioned, looking at her confused.
"It isn't over." She repeated, "The Originals, they'll come for her. Elena." Her voice was sad, and it shook as she spoke. They're doing it for him."
"For who?" I spoke, curiosity getting the better of me.
"Klaus." It was the only word she said.
"Klaus as in the Original, Klaus?" I asked the next morning, as I was now sitting in the parol of the house, in jeans, and a light green long sleeved top, and brown boots. Rose was standing nodding fiercely.
"Yes." She replied, "I am not lying."
"Well, you could be." Damon walked into the room with Elena behind him. She stopped when she saw Rose. Stefan stood and walked to her, assuring her that she had nothing to fear, and that in fact Rose was here to help.
"Okay, you have to understand." Rose began as Elena settled on the couch, "I only know what I picked up over the years, and I don't know what's true and what's not true. That's the problem with all this vampire crap." She was pacing, moving her hands back and forth. She slowed her walk and stared at Elena, "but Klaus, I know is real."
"Who is he?" Elena asked, her arms wrapped around herself.
"One of the Originals. He's a legend." Damon answered, his tone almost a bit excited.
"From the first generation of Vampires." Stefan added on.
"All vampires descend from them." I spoke, "or so legend says."
"So…like Elijah." Elena stated.
"No." Rose let out an exasperated sigh, "Elijah was the easter bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot soldier. Klaus is the real deal."
"Klaus, is known to be the oldest." Stefan tried to make things clearer, while I noticed Damon rolled his eyes.
"Okay," Elena put her hand up, "so you're saying that the oldest vampire in the history of time, is coming after me?"
"Yes." Rose spoke with a sigh of relief, but Stefan immediately countered with a no.
"What they're saying," Damon began, "I mean, is what she's saying is true."
"Which it is." Rose countered.
"And you're not just saying it so we won't kill you." Damon walked closer.
"Which I am not." Rose rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"Then, we're lookin' at a solid…maybe." Damon shrugged. I saw Elena take in a deep breath, as her heartbeat quicked.
"Elijah's dead right?" I looked at my brother who both nodded, "and Rose said he was a foot soldier…so maybe Klaus doesn't know that you exist."
"Not that you know of." Rose warned, as Stefan came and sat beside Elena.
"That's not helping." Damon glanced at Rose with a quick glare.
"Look," Stefan continued, "I've never even met anyone who has ever laid eyes on him." Stefan talked, trying to comfort Elena. I mean, we're talking centuries of truth, mixed up into fiction." He turned towards Elena, "I mean for all we know, he could just be some sort of stupid bedtime story."
"He's real." Rose warned, "and he doesn't give up. If he wants something, he''l take it. If you;re not afraid of Klaus, then your an idiot."
"Alright," Damon stopped her, "we're shaking, you've made your point." Silently Elena got up and grabbed her bag.
Where are you going?" Stefan asked concerned.
"School," Elena spoke plainly, "I'm late."
"Let, me uh-let me grab my stuff. I'll go with you." Stefan rose from the couch.
"That's okay." Elena shook her head, "I know where it is."
"She's in denial." Damon spoke as soon as she left.
"Shut up, Damon." Stefan snapped before looking at me.
"Hey, you." Damon looked at me, "go get your stuff, you'll be late too."
"Damon, I don't need to-" I began before he cut me off.
"Ah, no." He shook his head, "I got a letter from the school the other day, saying you've missed to much. Go." I stood slowly with a sigh.
"Fine. I'll go to school, since it's not like I've been three times." I looked back at the three before grabbing my bag, "or you known have a PhD, or anything." Stefan called out a thank you before I left the house.
"How many of them are there?" Elena asked as we walked down the hallway of school.
"The Originals?" I asked thinking for a moment, "five I believe. Klaus and Elijah are the main ones I have heard of."
"And what have you heard?" She asked stopping by her locker. I eyed her carefully before crossing my arms, "what are you doing?"
"What do you mean?" She asked innocently.
"You already have all your books, and we have passed down this hallway twice. Just now you have gone to your locker…" I studied her for a moment, "you're trying to get rid of me!"
"I'm not!" She shot back. I sighed before keeping my gaze level to hers.
"What are you trying to do Elena?" I took a step closer when she didn't answer, "Elena."
"I need answers, okay?" She lowered her voice, "so, I was just planning on taking a walk through the woods...to clear my head." I studied her for a moment before it clicked.
"Elena, don't you dare!" I hissed as she stuffed two books into her locker.
"Mira, Rose knows Katherine, Klaus wants me, I'm the Doppelganger. I put two and two together."
"And what? Got twenty four?!" I rushed after her as she walked down the hall. "Katherine is not going to tell you anything!"
"She will if I do this right." Elena turned towards, "are you gonna help me or not?"
"Stefan and Damon, are both going to kill me." I groaned as i followed Elena through the woods.
"Hey, technically you are keeping my safe." Elena pointed out, glancing at me over her shoulder, "they can't kill you for that."
"They still will not like this. Either of them!" The two of us stopped at the underground tomb.
"Stay here okay?" Elena asked stopping to face me, "make sure no one comes down here, alright?"
"Fine." I threw up my hands in surrender, "I'll just wait here, while you talk to the her." I slumped down onto a pile of old stones, and waited. It must have only been about two hours before Stefan came marching towards the tomb.
"What does she think she is doing?" He demanded in a low tone.
"Trying to get answers." I stood with an apologetic look, "I guess Caroline couldn't keep you occupied. Stefan, I would never let her get hurt."
"But you would let her talk to Katherine?" Stefan demanded.
"She's scared!" I lowered my voice, "she is trying to find answers."
"All Katherine will do, is lie! Mira, you know that!"
"Elena wouldn't take no for an answer." I shook my head before Stefan hurried into the tomb. A few moments later, he emerged with a tired looking Elena.
"Why did you let her go see Katherine?" Stefan asked as we got home hours after Stefan was done talking with Elena.
"She wasn't going to let me stop her,, Stefan." I replied flopping onto the couch, "at least I didn't let her go alone." I pointed to him, before picking up a book from the side table, "where's Damon?"
"Rose and him are probably still coming back from Richardmond." Stefan said walking further into the room. As if on cue a very annoyed looking Damon, and exhausted Rose came trudging through the door.
"What did you two do?" Stefan asked turning towards them.
"Pissed off an original vampire." Ros mumbled before shooting a glare at Damon.
"Hey," Damon pointed at her, "do not pretend that you didn't want to find out where Klaus is."
"I don't Damon!" Rose snapped.
"Well I do!" Damon shot back, "and it would have worked too!"
"Damon." I stood and looked at him before shaking my head, before walking over to Rose, "come on, let's get you in some clean clothes."
"I'm fine too Mira!" Damon called as we headed for the stairs.
"He's going to get himself killed one day." Rose spoke as she washed her face.
"Technically he already did." I handed her a blood bag, "here." She nodded before taking it, "he doesn't seem to be afraid of Klaus."
"Probably because he isn't." I answered, "Damon hasn't been scared of anything is a very long time." I chuckled lightly.
"That will change when Klaus arrives." She stared at me, "the only way someone isn't scared of him, is if they have no humanity. Damon's doesn't seem to be off, even though he may have little." Rose grumbled.
"If…" I walked closer, "if you are so scared of him, why are you sticking around to help us?" Rose paused for a moment before answering, "I don't have anywhere else to go." she confessed before shaking her head, "besides, you three. The Salvatores? Have a bit of a reputation, figured you three were my best chance."
"Best chance for what?" I asked still moving closer.
"Stopping an Original." Rose shrugged, "you brothers stopped Elijah."
"Who is apparently the Easter bunny, compared to Klaus." I sighed, "you should get some rest." I turned to leave when she called out a thank you. Turning I smiled lightly before nodding.
I heard Stefan and Damon talking as I made my way back to the living room.
"Do we have a plan yet?" I asked flopping onto the couch.
"I am going to try and find Rose's friend: Slater." Damon replied with a cup a bourbon in his hand, "then try Katherine. Again." He shot be a look. I shrugged, "she wasn't in any danger, calm down."
"You don't know that." Damon rolled his eyes, "you weren't right next to her."
"Katherine would not have said anything if I was down there with her." I explained, "you know that."
"Just, don't do it again. At least not alone." Damon pointed at me. I nodded and he seemed alright with my answer, and waltzed away.
"It was a stupid idea." Stefan spoke once Damon left.
"What can I say?" I looked at him and smiled lightly, "I'm a Salvatore."
I really hope you all enjoyed it! Thanks for reading:)
