This is just a little story I thought of when I was eating. Enjoy!!

Gone!

Caterina Sforza sat at her desk, calming herself from a busy day. Organizing papers, verifying files, and reports that Father Nightroad has been in trouble...again. And she had to bail him out...again. She sighs, and rests her forehead on her desk, and closes her eyes awhile. Abel can wait...he's not going anywhere... She thought. She then thinks of a tropical vacation, whom she yearns to escape to. The palm trees, the ocean air...and Carrot cake. Carrot cake? Oh yes! The chef made her the cake earlier that day, thanking her for her help of bailing his little cousin out.

She quickly sits up, and smiles widely, then she presses a button under her desk. A secret compartment opens up just by her right foot. She looks to her left, and then to her right, then opens it. In it is a large safe with a dial. She twists it to the right, and two times to the left, the three times to the right again. The safes clicks open, and she opens it. In it was a mini fridge, that was just snug in the safe. She smiles.

She opens the fridge, but to her horror, the cake was missing. Her face turns bright red, with steam practically blowing out of her ears. She was pissed as hell.

"ABEL!!!!" She yelled out, practically cursing his name. All over the Vatican, her scream was heard, and everyone knew that Abel Nightroad was dead.

In one of the halls, Abel stopped dead in his tracks. He looked to his left, but Tres was gone; he had gone to Caterina's side once again. He knew he went too far with the carrot cake. Hugue was right: He should've went on that plane to Africa when he had the chance.

Abel gulps, and slowly turns around to head for Caterina's office, knowing that those few breaths he breathed out were to be his last.

He stops outside of her office, and bites his nails like grim death. He heard no movement nor voices from her office. He closes his eyes, gulps, and opens the door.

"You wanted to...see me?" He asks timidly.

Caterina glares at Abel, then turns to Tres. "You may leave Tres,". Tres bows respectively, and walks out, moving for Abel to enter. Abel closes the door behind him, and barely walks in.

Caterina held her hands together, thinking what she was going to say.

"Abel...did you eat my Carrot cake I was saving for later? The one I was going to eat tonight with a cup of hot tea while I take a NICE, LONG, RELAXING, BATH?!" She says, getting up, and getting into Abel's face.

"Um...yes?" He says, followed by a nervous chuckle.

Abel sees a vein pulsating on Caterina's forehead like a 10.5 earthquake.

She narrows her eyes, and looks at him square in the eye. "If that EVER happens again, I will have your head! Is that understood?" She says, but knew deep down inside she didn't mean it. She loved him like he was her very own son, and needed to be punished as such.

Abel nods quickly in fear. "Is...is that all?"

She closes her eyes, and massaged her right temple. "No, you may leave."

Abel breathed out a sigh of relief, and opened her door, then leaves.

Outside, Hugue was eating a slice of the last remaining carrot cake.

"Abel! You're alive!" He says, mouth half-full.

Abel glared at Hugue.

"Hey! It wasn't my idea! It's not my fault your eyes are bigger than your stomach..."

Abel gave out a slight 'humph'.

"Can I have a small piece?" Abel says with puppy eyes.

"No."

"Please! I got the cake out! I think I deserve a small piece!"

"You already had half of it, now it's my turn to have the goods." He says, then took another bite, finishing off the cake.

"Can I have your plate?" Abel begs.

Hugue takes his spoon, and scrapes the frosting from the plate.

"Let me think...no."

"Hugue, why are you so mean to me?"

And with that, the two squabbled all the way until they reached the kitchen.
