Leaning against the exCIA-agent's desk, she waited. Held tightly against her chest was the manilla folder that was holding their entire future in it's depths. Waiting for them to return from their time in the field, Nell Jones could feel herself getting nervous, worried that something had happened. Placing the file on the desk, she moved around to sit at the chair behind it.
"I though you took the day off, Miss Jones," Henrietta Lange questioned, walking to stand in front of the desk.
"I only needed the morning," the intelligence analyst replied, "only had an appointment to go to."
"And how did said appointment go?"
"Uh, I'd say it went pretty good."
With a small nod, the woman said slowly, "I hope you got the result you both wanted."
Nell looked down at the desk, knowing that Hetty had walked away. With a groan, her head dropped to the table.
"God damn," she muttered, "bloody fantastic today is going to be."
…
A hand rested on her back, a voice in her ear saying her name over and over again, coaxing her to wake up. Frowning, she moved her hand to cover her eyes as she opened them slowly.
"Working hard?" G Callen joked, smiling as she blinked the sleep away.
Rubbing her eyes with her palm, Nell say up slowly. Looking around the bullpen to find it empty, she turned back to the agent with a confused expression.
"It's almost nine," he explained, "you fell asleep while we were out, none of could wake you up. But you need to be concious so you and I could have the conversation."
"The file."
"That one?" he gestured to the manilla folder on his desk, that had the Mercy General Hospital symbol printed on the front.
With a nod she pulled it towards them. Nell was hesitant to talk about what was in it, but she knew they would have to sooner or later.
"What does it say" Callen asked slowly, moving his hand to rest on the file.
Closing her eyes agin and leaning back in the chair, Nell left him to open the file. For a few minutes, she forced herself to fight of sleep. She had been up at little after two am almost every morning for the past week, her head in the toilet as she brought up her stomach contents.
"Nell," his voice whispered, bringing her attention back to him.
Sitting back up and opening her eye she was met with a large smile.
"You're...we're. I-"
"Is G Callen speechless?" Nell asked with a matching smile.
"I'm happy, I'm-" he shook his head, "wow."
"You're not scared?"
"Yeah I'm scared, but this is amazing nell."
"You're not going to run away?" She questioned hesitantly.
"And leave you along? No, never. I'm staying, forever. Or at least, until you get sick of me."
"Which will probably won't be happening in the near future," the intelligence analyst stated.
"I hope not."
Leaning toward him, she cupped his cheeks, resting her forehead against his.
"We're having a baby," she finally said aloud.
"We're having a baby," Callen repeated, resting his hands on her stomach.
Her smile widening as she felt his hands on her – still flat – stomach, no longer feeling afraid about being a mother. She had him, and he was just as scared as she was.
…
Something started. Then something muse related went 'no!'. Then this ended like this. I think.
Thank you!
