Aleatory

When a few greasers stumble across a girl in a park, they'd never believe where she'd take their lives.

Hey! This is my first story and I hope you like it!

There was a shadow that could be seen in the slide. It slowly moved, yet never appearing to try to get out.

"Check it out," Two-Bit said with a big smile on his face, "There's a drunk in the slide, and this time, it's not me!"

Sodapop rolled his eyes. "Congratulations."

"Who do you think it is?" Ponyboy asked.

Sodapop shrugged. "Let's go find out," he suggested.

"My money's on Tim Shepard," Two-Bit said as the three boys walked to the yellow tunnel slide.

They climbed the stairs and peered in the top.

"Shepard?" Two-Bit called.

To their alarm, inside was a girl, gazing up at them with piercing, crystal clear, sky blue eyes. Her skin was flawless, without even a hint of a freckle. Her jet black hair was bone-straight, and her bangs hung down into her eyes. She looked about fifteen years old. Despite the fact that she was gorgeous, she appeared to be homeless.

She looked at Two-Bit, flashed a quirky smile, and said, "Nope."

"Well, who are you?" Sodapop asked.

She turned to look at him. "Jensen Jeters. Nice to meet you," she said, extending a hand out of the slide.

Sodapop grabbed onto it and pulled Jensen out of the slide, revealing her incredibly swollen stomach.

Ponyboy's mouth dropped open and he quickly shut it.

Jensen giggled at his reaction. "Surprise! I'll bet you weren't expecting that, huh?"

"Not entirely, no," Ponyboy admitted.

"It's okay. I wasn't either," she said.

"Why are you getting yourself stuck in the slide?" Sodapop asked.

Jensen shrugged. "I was kicked out and the dad's dead, so what else can I do?"

"Of course," Two-Bit said, "Sleeping in a slide with my pregnant belly is the obvious first choice."

Jensen gave him her quirky smile again.

"Stay at our place," Ponyboy said.

"Yeah," Sodapop chimed in, "We've got an extra room. Our brother won't mind either."

"Alright," Jensen agreed.

"You're agreeing that quickly?" Two-Bit asked.

"Yep." Jensen smiled, "It wouldn't be the first stupid thing I've done."

She turned around and slid down the slide on her back. Ponyboy went down the stairs, and Sodapop and Two-Bit jumped off of the top of the slide.

"Which way?" Jensen asked.

"This way, my dear lady," Two-Bit said, "If you'd just follow my lead."

He linked arms with Jensen and started skipping down the road with Sodapop on Jensen's other arm and Ponyboy in tow.
