"Okay, all I have to do is get the chaos emeralds, now how will I do that?" Tails asked himself, he'd been trying to think of a way to get the emeralds from Knuckles, and he knew there was no way the stubborn echidna would just hand them over, "I could try and fight him for them." he said, but realized he'd just get himself hurt.
"I know! Maybe i can get someone to distract him while I grab the emeralds." he said, Tails pulled out his phone book and went to the R's, "Okay, where are you?" he said to himself, he scanned the rows with his eyes until, "Gotcha!" he exclaimed while slamming his finger down over the correct number.
He dialed the number on his phone, "Come on." he said over and over to himself as he heard the dial tone, "Hello?" a voice said from the other end of the phone, "Hi, it's me Tails, listen I need your help with something, could you distract Knuckles for a few minutes?" he asked the person, "Could I? You know I could, but i'll need a payment." the voice said.
Tails thought for a moment then remembered he had some fake chaos emeralds, he couldn't use them to transform, but they looked EXACTLY like the real thing, "How about two chaos emeralds?" he said, "TWO chaos emeralds?! You got yourself a deal, i'll meet you at Angel Island." the person said before hanging up.
Tails Flew to Angel Island with the fake emeralds in hand, he landed the Tornado 2 and went to the meeting place, "I'm up here." a voice said, Tails looked up and saw Rouge in a tree, "Okay, I need you to go over and stall him the best you can." Tails said to her.
Rouge walked over to Knuckles and said, "How ya doin' hot head?" "How about you batty?" he shot back, while they argued over something, Tails snuck over to where Knuckles had the emeralds stored, "I guess i'll have to fly." he said while looking at the emeralds on top of their pillars.
Tails flew up to the first emerald and landed on top of it's pillar, as he removed the emerald however some rocks fell down and landed at Knuckles' foot, "Hm? What's this?" he said while picking up the rock, he looked at the top of the pillar and saw the emerald was gone, "Give it back!" he shouted while pointing a figure at rouge, "I don't have your silly emerald." she said, they eventually began to attack each other for the emerald Tails had taken.
"Geez, glad I hired her instead of taking them without backup." Tails said to himself, he grabbed the remaining emeralds and took off, leaving two fake ones near the base of the altar, Rouge stopped fighting Knuckles when she noticed the emeralds, she grabbed them and flew off.
Tails arrived back at the Tornado 2 and put the emeralds in the back seat with the supplies, "Here I come Cosmo!" he said, he took the plane back to his house for a few last things an then took off to find her.
