A/N: Some things require no explanation. This is one of them.

Reflecting Light
"TJ and Liz invite others to join them in their modest wriggles." Kirk's voice declared to the assembled crowd.
"So, hey, your food's probably cold, you wanna go get more?" Lorelai Gilmore asked the man beside her.
"Sure, or we could..." Luke began uncomfortably.
"What?" Smiled Lorelai.
"Do you wanna dance?"
"Um, you said before you don't dance."
"Well, I'm a compulsive liar."
"Umm, sure, lets dance." Lorelai found herself grinning as he took her hand and led her onto the floor. He placed one hand on her waist, holding hers with the other. She was pleasantly surprised to find that he knew what he was doing. She scooted closer, enjoying the moment.
The townies were all watching happily, but Luke and Lorelai didn't notice. His eyes lingered on her face, on the light shining in her eyes, on her dark, curly hair. She stuck out her jaw a little, smiling and concentrating at the came times. She looked happier than he ever remembered seeing her.
Lorelai turned her face and for the first time during their dance, looked into his eyes. They captivated her, staring straight back into hers. She remembered a conversation several years ago, when Sookie had tried to convince her that Luke loved her.
"Just look into his eyes." Sookie had said, "It may be crazy. It may be irrational. But it's there."
Looking into his eyes now, Lorelai realized that Sookie had been right. It was absolutely crazy and irrational, but there was something burning in his eyes, just for her. And in that moment, she knew he would find the same light in hers. Who can explain it? She wondered. Who can tell you why? She had fallen for her best friend in the world. And for some reason, it was the most comforting feeling she had ever known.
