This one is pretty short...but I think I'm going to make it a series of one-shots of something...
Disclaimer: I don't own the song or the characters.
Safe and Sound
I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I'll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight.
Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound
Don't you dare look out your window darling
Everything's on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music's gone
Outside the thin walls was a world both Roy and Jason had felt the full brutality of, though tonight they could forget. Forget about the abandonment, the pain, the spilled blood, and the death, tonight they could just think about each other.
The ebony was allowed blank out his past and focus on the soft groans of the man underneath him. He let his pain be scraped away by each brush of a calloused hand against his skin. He could lose himself as he entered the red-head with a swift roll of his hips and a low, feral groan.
The archer let his past drift away too. He moaned and bucked as hands caressed his form. His thoughts and feelings were scrambled in his head a Jason pounded into him with hard, precise thrusts,
Every moan and grunt that escaped their mouths were laced with emotional turmoil, every buck, scrape and stroke was weighted down by heavy baggage, but it didn't matter they were alive, they were safe, and most importantly they were together.
Roy clenched around Jason as his climax racked through his form. Jason followed suit emptying himself into the archer. They disentangled from each other, sweat coated chests, rising and falling with every pant. Usually they fell wordlessly into deep slumbers after sex, sleeping as far away from each other as they could get in the queen-sized bed. Tonight changed when Jason's arms wrapped around the archer's torso pulling him towards Jason's firm form. With their noses almost touching they could feel each others breath, hot against their faces. Jason's kiss was different from all the others they'd shared, it was soft and lingering, like a whisper against the red-head's chapped lips, and as quick as it came it was gone.
"Ove oo." muttered the younger man.
"What was that?" Roy asked as Jason buried his face against the archer's powerful shoulder.
"I love you." he whispered again, embarrassment dripping off his reluctant, quiet words.
A grin stretched across Roy's face. He could almost feel the heat on Jason's cheeks; almost see the adorable blush dusting across the ex-Robin's face. Tilting his head Roy placed a kiss on the smooth, pale patch of skin, between the younger man's ear and charcoal hair. He let his lips hover over the shell of Jason's ear, his hot breath making the man shudder. "I love you too, Jaybird."
A breathy, content sigh escaped Jason's lips as he cuddled closer to Roy's chest, tangling their legs.
The last thing they both felt before they drifted to sleep, wrapped in each others arms, the numb, hard shell of their hearts begin to soften.
So maybe the world wasn't that bad after all.
Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound
Just close your eyes
You'll be alright
Come morning light,
You and I'll be safe and sound...
R&R thanks
