No real storyline to this one, but I like the way I did it. Hopefully you will too. This is my first fanfiction to be posted, so I'm very nervous of people's opinions. Please be honest when you review. I'd love to know how to improve my writing. - Léa

Some people say

"You think you're any different from me, or your friends, or this tree? If you listen hard enough, you can hear every living thing breathing together. You can feel everything growing. We're all living together, even if most folks don't act like it. We all have the same roots, and we are all branches of the same tree."
— Huu in The Swamp

Some people say there are six billion stars in the sky. Some people say there are six billion people on the planet. And some people say we're all branches of the same tree. For all we know, there very well could be four billion stars in the sky, but few people would volunteer to count them.

Aang knew he loved Katara. He knew she'd hugged him 1037 times. He knew she's kissed him 1142 times, and he knew without her he would be nothing. She kept him fighting. Fighting for the people he loved: his friends and family. For all six billion people on this tiny little planet.

Aang had calculated that this day was significant for him and Katara. To her, it was like any other day on their travels. She's woken up early to make breakfast for the group, ensuring that she took extra time to prepare a vegetarian option for Aang. To her, today was an ordinary day.

However, Aang had other ideas. He'd calculated that today was four years to the day that he's met Katara. 1461 days since he'd first seen her face. 35,064 hours since he'd first seen her colbalt blue eyes staring into his. Looking back at that day, he'd realised that at that moment, he had to believe those people who said that we're all branches of the same tree. Despite in truth having a ninety eight year age gap, Aang knew Katara was the one person he count on to be there alongside him for every step of the way.

When he finally had to accept that he was the last airbender, she was there to hug him. When he went to fight Firelord Ozai for the good of all six billion people on the planet, she was there to kiss him goodbye. And when he was shot through with lightning, she was there to bring him back. He knew that without her, there might as well be none of the four billion stars in that sky.

Without his Katara, life wouldn't be worth living.
