Placeholder? Promise? Summery? Joke?

I vote "E," all of the above.

Kerry thought she left the life of vampires and vampire hunters behind when she walked out Gilbert Marsala's front door. Apparently, no one told the vampires and vampire hunters this.

Almost four years since Ethan Bryne reportedly died at the hands of a disturbed and self-named "vampire hunter," Kerry Nowicki has found herself going through hellfire after ring of hellfire. First her father dies in a car crash, then she becomes her little brother's sole guardian, almost flunks out of high school, and now must not only work to pay for food, clothing, the bills, and various school expenses Ian's elementary schools call for – but apparently she's got to play hostess to a mini "coven" of vampires camping out in her basement?

At least she has the right to set up the dilemma for them: either they each pay a ridiculous amount for "rent," or their leader gets to play Twenty-Million-Questions with their lovely landlady. All to be blamed of course, on those ever so friendly hunters constantly harassing her and her darling little brother.

Is peace really so much to ask for these days?

Yes? No?

Yes?

Damn.

Author's Note

Sucks, huh? Think of this as a poorly done teaser for an upcoming fic, along with a semi-brief greeting/intro from the author. School is oh so lovely and busy and hell, but I've rediscovered my passion for this book –and with it, vampires, as it was the first book on the subject I'd ever read- so there actually is a strong chance I'll be able to kick myself into working on chapters soon.

Obviously I don't own CotN –the ending would have been better if I did. This story is rated M due to the fact I tend to swear. A lot. Characters will too, however theirs will be much more justified in the situations. I really dislike censoring language when the censored words are the most realistic for the situation. While I seriously doubt any of the content of the story would go into MA rated territory, there is a change for suggestive language and scenes, but really, think of the rating like for what they did in Underworld. The worst was the violence and one heavy swear. I can't write violence very well, but point still stands – the high rating is to make sure I don't get in trouble due to my not-censoring-brain.

Pairing wise, along with there being a lot of lovely MichelxKerry going on, there will also be some implied MichelxOC, perhaps even a little KerryxOC to add some twists. Like hell the last two pairs would ever be official though, puke.
