A/N - Don't worry, I'm still working on my other story. I just had to get this out and post it real quick. There's been too many ideas swimming around in my head for this pairing lately, and it's been getting hard to focus.

Is anyone else anticipating the Glass DVD/Digital release as much I am? :D

Disclaimer: I don't own Unbreakable, Split, or Glass.

"Remind me again how somethin' like this happens?" Dennis asked, whilst attempting to detangle a large glob of white goo from Casey's dark locks, cringing all the way.

"Hedwig...put gum in my hair..." she told him, looking down at her lap in embarrassment.

Dennis pulled.

A couple of strands snapped.

Both of them cringed.

Dennis, more so than her, but still...

"And how did he acquire such candy?" he asked, feigning naivety.

Casey bit her lip.

"...I gave it to him?" she admitted sheepishly.

But Dennis wouldn't have it.

He was mad.

Real mad.

"And how many times have I said -"

"- Don't give Hedwig gum. EVER. Under any circumstances." Casey finished the well-known lecture. "Yes, I know. But -"

"-But nothin'," said Dennis sternly, returning his latex gloved hands to her hair, and tugging harshly at a white glob.

"You didn't listen. There's a reason there's rules, you know. There's a reason we follow 'em. If I can't trust you enough to leave you alone with Hedwig anymore, then -"

"-No! Dennis, please," Casey begged, turning around on the stool she was seated, and grabbing hold of his wrist.

"It wasn't anyone's fault, it just happened! And it's not that big of deal, it'll come out. Please, Dennis, come on,"

"You know how much Hedwig needs someone to play with. And aside from you and Patricia, I'm the only one who will give him the time of day. So please, don't keep me from him just because I messed something up. It wouldn't be fair."

A few beats passed between them.

Then Dennis hung his head, and sighed.

He looked from Casey's pleading eyes to her hand on his wrist.

Her touch made him feel calm and restless all at the same time.

"Fine..." he relented, eyes closing briefly, and head shaking slightly.

Casey smiled in relief.

"But no more candy," he warned, pointing a gloved finger in her direction before removing her hand from his wrist, and taking a step back.

His eyes refocusing their attention on her messy, gum-filled hair.

She nodded her understanding, and turned back around on the stool for him to continue his work.

He stood.

Arms crossed, and back stiff; head shaking in disapproval.

"It won't come out," he told her earnestly.

"It will," she insisted, not ready to give up just yet.

Sighing once again, Dennis got back to work.

Trying hard to separate a particularly big string of icky gum from her auburn locks, only to have it to snap off and stick to his latex-gloved fingers.

Struggling to suppress a gag at the sight of the germ-ridden substance sticking to him, Dennis cringed and looked away.

An object on the countertop suddenly catching his eye.

"Hey...do you look good with short hair?" he asked carefully, picking the object up off the countertop just out of Casey's view.

"What? Why?"

'SNIP' 'SNIP'

Casey barely had time to react as her hair fell off her shoulders in tufts on the floor.

"I'm sorry it had to be this way. I really am -"

"-Dennis!" Casey twirled around on the stool and snatched a hand mirror off the countertop, jaw dropping in shock at what was staring back at her.

" - But to tell you the truth, you don't look too bad. It's actually...kinda..."

Casey's expression soured; her brows lowering, and her lips forming a thin line.

It was the harshest of looks that she'd ever given him.

"Nice?" he finished uneasily, setting the scissors back down on the counter, his own brows knitting together in discomfort.

Yep...

He was screwed.
