Author's note: Hey everyone! So this is a crazy idea I've been messing with and pondering for a VERY long time. The HNKNA Wonderland is such a mysterious place and I'm one to ponder and come up with ideas for stuff. So...that's how this story came to be written. How did Wonderland come to be? Who makes all the rules for it?

This is my answer for it. I hope you enjoy. :)

P.S: I get some of my inspiration from Time in the Alice Through the Looking Glass movie by Tim Burton. I love him! 3

The Gamemaker of Wonderland

Chapter 1: The Game of Time

What is time?

Ha, now that's a loaded question just because there are many answers. Time is infinite. Never-ending. It takes your past, present and future into effect. It's a constant reminder. It is existence and events all taking place as a whole. It keeps track of everything you do. Sometimes people even say time is a 'He' as if Time is a person. Ha!

You could go on with it, but there is only one person who really knows the answer. The truth of who time is, and that person is his daughter.

She was made by him to in order to help keep track of things by making clocks, but most especially, offer him companionship. Time wouldn't admit it, but he was lonely being locked away in his tower all by himself. Eyana, the name she had given herself, was a spitting image of her father. Despite being half-mechanical and half-human such as himself, she had long black hair and blue eyes like him.

Eyana was his "work of art" as he would say. Growing up in the castle of eternity, she had all the time in the world to spend with her father making clocks and learning what it meant to have the power.

However, eventually, once she got bigger, Eyana grew tired of it all and wanted something different. It was hard when you had all of eternity to spend doing the same thing and nothing new. This was when it hit her.

Why not make friends out of clocks? Her father talked to the clocks like they were his dear friends, mourning them when they stopped ticking and rejoicing when a new one was made. Why not play a game with them?

If it was one thing she learned that day, never make an enemy of Time.

Time's blue eyes narrowed, glaring down at her. "My daughter, I am disappointed in you. If I am just a game and clocks are just pieces you can use to play that game with, then I hear-by banish you to a world where you can do just that! Hopefully this will make you wonder more about our roles and the power that comes with it. Maybe then...you will eventually learn your lesson. Till then, you will be nothing more than a maker of games."

A smile came to her lips as she watched the new game taking place. "Those sly little guys don't even think I'm already onto what they're doing..."

Someone walked up behind her, bowing. "Gamemaker, have you heard the news?"

A chuckle came out. "Yes, I have. Nightmare and Peter have brought an outsider to Wonderland. You know what that means, Joker."

The Jester nodded, avoiding her gaze still. "Good. Now, I know the country won't change for awhile, but make sure the rules I've made stay enforced. Everyone in Wonderland will come to be turned by this girl, but at the end of it all we must make her part of the game."

"Yes, Gamemaker."

She turned to look at Joker, who finally looked up into her blue eyes. Somehow that bright, cheerful smile she had on her face didn't fool him to the truth underneath it. "Joker, what have I told you?! You are allowed to call me Eyana. Only you. After all, we've been together for so long now."

He forced the smile onto his face, trying to forget the reminder. "Of course, Eyana."

"Good. I'll see you soon, Joker. For now, I've got a new game to watch over." She said, turning back to the screen before her. Eyeing the new outsider carefully, Eyana looked on with a sparkle in her eye. "Now tell me Alice Liddell, what makes you so special?"

A/N (again): I know this chapter is short, but it's pretty much a brief introduction. I'll go into further details with stuff as the chapters go. This is just the basis.

Next Chapter - Chapter 2: The Game of Love: It has been awhile since Alice came to Wonderland and the country is finally changing. With it we welcome the arrival of the circus and the Gamemaker finally deciding to visit the residents of her world. Is the Gamemaker a friend or a villain? Can the roleholders keep up appearances and still not give too much of the truth away?
