'Thoughts'

I stared at my brother as he rushed around the house. He threw books and pencils into his bag as he hopped around to pull up his pants, which were a sea-green. Unfortunately, matching his unkempt hair. My mother tossed in a few items that she deemed important, but ultimately wasn't. I glance inside to see the bag nearly filled.
"Mom, what...?"
I was ignored. She ran into the kitchen while he quickly button his jacket. The wrinkled outfit looked somewhat presentable. The house was in unnecessary panic. He turns towards me.
"Ok...," He relaxed his body, "How does this look?" He asks before gesturing to himself. I snort and give him a thumbs up, before walking into the kitchen. Behind me, I hear him groan and rush into the bathroom. I don't understand the worry.
My brother, Saburo Maki, was only starting his 3rd year of high school at PK Academy.
"Aoi, what do you want for lunch?"
"Uh…"
Mom was surrounded with bento boxes filled with food, some having a tag still on them. I didn't want to focus on when she bought them, because it was almost time for me to go to school. And I refused to be late if they were taking their time.
So let's tone it down a little.
'It's really quiet...' I released as much energy as possible without disturbing the house. 'I could sit in the quiet forever...'
I watched my mother slowly relax. She sighed and packed the lunch she finished into the fridge. Saburo walked into the room, and ruffled my hair. He packed a bento into both our bags.
"Have a nice day!"
"We'll come straight home!"
No mess, no problems. As it should be.
After all, I'm only an empath.
