There she was, standing at her locker like she did every day after fifth period. Puck couldn't help but smile to himself when she pushed some hair behind her ear. His smiled quickly faded once he found himself thinking about everything that had happened just a year ago. There was so much left unsaid between them and it had been building up in him since the summer, when she broke things off with him. She needed a 'break' and Puck couldn't have been more devastated. Quinn shut her locker and turned to walk to her next class. Puck was still staring at her, she noticed, he didn't care. Quinn shot him a glare and continued walking. That was the breaking point for him, Puck couldn't take it any longer. He wanted explanations.
He reached his hand out and tugged back on her arm. "What do you want Puck? I'm trying to get to class.." Quinn pulled her arm away from him and started walking away. "What's your deal Fabray? You walk around school like nothing happened last year. Well guess what, It happened. Beth. Us. Everything. It happened. How much longer do you plan on ignoring it for?" Puck was speaking loudly, he didn't even care who heard them. Quinn walked back towards him and pointed her finger at his face. "I know what happened last year. You don't think I think about her every day? Do you know I have a picture of the three of us at the hospital in my room? Yeah, I look at it every night." Puck just looked into her eyes, "You..You have a picture of us? Then why do you walk around like it didn't happen?" Quinn stared down at her new ballet flats and said shyly, "Because...Talking about her just makes me miss her even more. I figured if I don't think about her, I won't be as sad about it. No one would understand. " He put his hand under her chin and lifted her head up a bit, "You know you can talk to me about her..I'm going through this to you know." She let a slight smile grow on her face, "I know, but I just couldn't" Puck dropped his hands down and shot her a confused look, "You couldn't? Why? She was my daughter too."
This was it, The moment Quinn could finally tell Puck her feelings. Her lips began to quiver and tears formed in the corners of her eyes. "Because I knew that talking to you would make me regret everything" She let a single tear roll down the side of her face. "I'm sorry Puck." He wiped the tear of her face with his thumb. "Sorry for what..?" More tears. "Everything. It was all such a mistake Puck. I should have never left you this summer. You said you loved me and I was too afraid to say anything back. I was stupid. I should have told you when I had the chance." She was breaking down and he could see it. He wrapped his arms around her lightly and pulled her in close. "Hey..it's okay. " He ran his hand up and down her back to try to comfort her and stop the tears. "No It's not Puck." She buried her head in his shoulder, inhaling the smell of his cologne, which she always felt comforting. "Yes it is." She pulled herself back so she could see his face. "I love you." She took a deep breath and smiled at him. It felt so good to finally get it out. Puck smiled and kissed her forehead lightly, "I love you too, Q. I always have. And I always will" He pulled her in close again and kissed the top of her head. The two of them stood there in silence until it was time to go t
