I am a hobbit with a ring,
The One Ring of power,
I an innocent soul with a burden,
That me it could devour.

I am a helpless child to many,
I'm the weakest of the Nine,
An unskillful fighter,
And yet the burden I mine.

I go on perilous journey,
Just to destroy that thing,
Lives have been lost,
Just because of that ring!

Why hasn't Ilsidur destroyed it?
When it could have been done?
Oh how I despise him so!
But why am I the one?
Aragorn's his heir,
Yet him I truly adore,
He saved me and my friends,
Once and more before.

My friends Merry and Pippin,
Who I like a lot,
Have sacrificed their lives for me,
And thought of themselves naught.

Legolas and Gimli I also feel,
Made my journey much less cruel,
They are amazing fighters, so unique,
Their presence makes me a fool.

Gandalf has helped too much,
The wizard that Bilbo met,
He's taught me much and saved me more,
Him I will never forget.
.
Faramir, Boromir, Arwen and Eowyn
Eomer, Theoden, Haldir and Gollum too,
I thank them much too for their help,
Without them I'm through.

But Sam, my brother, Sam,
I thank him more than all the rest,
I owe him more than my life!
Because of him I passed the quest.
