Standing in the pouring rain above her beloved sister's grave, Piper remembers the first time they were separated for a long time. She'd been so excited when she'd first applied for the prestigious culinary school, but her face'd fallen when she'd gotten their acceptance letter and realized it truly meant leaving her family.

She'd folded the Dean's letter with shaking hands, and Prue'd looked over at her with concern swiftly turning into anger. "Don't tell me they rejected you! The idiots are turning away the next Martha Stewart!"

"They . . . " Piper's voice had trembled. She'd looked away as she'd admitted, "They didn't reject me."

Prue'd bounded over to her, smiling ecstatically. She'd paused when she'd seen Piper's sad look. "That's a good thing, isn't it? It's what you've wanted ever since you were old enough to hold a frying pan!"

"True," Piper'd mumbled.

"Then what is it?" Prue'd asked, taking her face in her hands and forcing her to look at her.

"I don't want to leave you!" Her tears had started then, pouring down hot and wild. They fell even fiercer now as she gasped aloud. Prue had kissed away her tears, assured her she'd always be there waiting for her, and forced her to take what had turned out to be one of the best opportunities of her life. She couldn't kiss Prue now, but she had to believe she could still hear her. "I will wait for you," she repeats her love's earlier words underneath the howling storm.
