Alec had to pee. Bad.
He had just been out fighting demons with his parabatai, Jace. Jace had thought that Alec wanted to get out of patrol by having to go to the bathroom, but he wasn't. So now, eight hours later, he really had to go.
He rushed into the bathroom, and got ready to sigh in relief. But the sigh never came.
Max burst into the bathroom, Magnus trailing after him. Since Max was potty training, he was encouraged to go to the bathroom whenever he needed to. And they only had one bathroom in the loft. So Alec waited. Max took twenty minutes to go to the bathroom, and Alec was in agony, his bladder ready to explode.
When Max finally exited, Magnus was grinning, and then Alec had to congratulate Max. That took several minutes, and Alec was practically peeing himself.
Alec went to the toilet, and pulled down his pants, when he heard a scream, and he rushed into action.
He grabbed his bow, quiver, and gear, and saw a demon in the foyer. Alec nocked the bow, but the arrow went stray, because Alec had to pee so bad. And so he shot again and again, until he finally hit the demon.
But not before it died, Alec peed. Except he wasn't on the toilet.
His only solace was that Magnus and the kids had left the loft until Alec had everything under control. Which he did, now that he had relieved himself. He was wet, and embarrassed.
He went into his and Magnus's room, changed, and came back out while his boyfriend and kids were coming back in. Ever observant, Rafe said that he had changed.
"You changed." He said matter-of-factly. "Why?" The question was less of a curious question than a demand, but Alec had a lie ready.
"I got demon ichor all over my clothes." Rafe nodded, satisfied. And Alec later confided what had actually happened to Magnus later that night, while they were in bed, and the sound of Magnus's laughter made Alec laugh about the incident as well. And then he made Magnus swear to never tell anyone. Ever. "Have I ever told your secrets, Alexander?"
"Yes."Alec said, but he was laughing, and he trusted Magnus not to tell. And the incident was forgotten. Kind of. it was always buried in Magnus and Alec's mind, and some nights, when things seemed dire, they would laugh over it, remembering funnier, easier times.
