A/U: Haha, I'm back after a very long internet loss. Hope you enjoy the story. It's not much…just an idea I had late one night.

Tom strode down the hallway with pride. He was on his way to Harry's quarters from Sick Bay with the news that B'Elanna was pregnant. It had been a surprise to both Tom and B'Elanna- they had found out in Engineering due to Icheb's tricorder. Tom was now on his way to tell Harry –his best friend- the news.

Tom rang the doorbell. He heard muffled footsteps, and then the door slid open.

"Oh, hiya Tom!" Harry said as he motioned for Tom to come in.

"Hey, Harry. How ya doin'?"

"Same as always." Harry smiled, glad that he had a friend who cared enough to ask such questions. "Did you need something? I wasn't expecting you."

"Harry, I came by to tell you that I am going to be a father!" Tom could barely contain his joy. Harry's face fell briefly, but then he put on a weak smile.

"Congratulations, Tom! I had no idea that you and B'Elanna were planning…"

"We weren't, but it happened anyways. We're both excited though." Tom studied Harry's broad, tan face. Something isn't right. "Harry, are you alright?"

Harry turned his back to Tom, trying to compose himself a little. "Ah, no. Why would you say that?"

Tom shrugged his shoulders. "Ugh, because you have your back turned to me?"

Harry walked over to his small couch, and sat down. He didn't invite Tom to sit down, but Tom did so anyways. Harry was his friend. He didn't need permission to sit.

"It's just…well…"

"Harry, c'mon. Tell me." Tom said sternly.

"It's just that…when B'Elanna has the baby, you'll be busy taking care of it."

Tom smiled a little. "Oh no, B'Elanna and I decided that the child would take care of itself."

Harry frowned. "Tom, I'm serious!"

"I know. Alright, alright. Continue."

"So, if you're busy taking care of the kid, then in your free time you're going to want to spend time with B'Elanna. And then there's work." Harry explained.

"That's just life, Harry."

"Yeah, I know, but where exactly do I fit into your life? I mean, with all of that, there's going to be no more time for me! You're my best friend, Tom, and I feel like I'll lose you."

Tom put a hand on Harry's shoulder. "Harry, Harry, Harry. You're my best friend. You know that. Do you honestly think that I'm not going to have any time for my best friend? Sure, I'll be busy, but I'll still be able to hang out with you. That's what friends do, OK?"

"OK. I was silly for thinking things like that anyways."

"Besides, I'm going to need a babysitter when B'Elanna and I are both on duty. You're going to be the one who's busy with the baby."

"Haha, that's a good one, Tom." Harry pointed a finger and smiled. Tom's expression, however, was rock solid.

"No, I'm serious, Harry."

"You…oh…well, ummm…sure, I'll babysit the little girl."

"Actually, we don't know what it is yet. It might be a little boy." Tom corrected.

Harry smiled devilishly. "No, I'm know it's going to be a girl."

"I know you like girls, Harry, but really, I don't think you know."

"Tom, I just know, alright?"

Tom smiled, and said goodbye to Harry. He felt that he had the responsibility to be with B'Elanna whenever he could, and he didn't want her over-working herself and harming the little…girl.
