A/N: I do not own Back to the Future.
The night was silent, the room dark. The sun peeked over the hills, streaking the sky with orange and pink. Sunlight poured through the window, shining on the girl's face. She groaned, pulling the cover up over her head. Her alarm clock went off, and she groaned once more as a Van Halen song came on the radio. Well, it was no use trying to sleep. She swung her legs out of bed, shivering as the cold air hit her. She groggily made her way to the bathroom to splash some cold water on her face.
She turned on the faucet, and when she used enough cold water to wake herself up, she looked in the mirror.
Lucy didn't consider herself beautiful, even though she actually was. Her hair was an onyx black--which trailed down to her lower black--covered most of her heart-shaped face, and her eyes were the most bright and intense blue.
After she had put on the necessary things (clothes and make-up) she grabbed her backpack and a slice of toast and ran out the front door. She didn't make her way to school though. She made her way to her friend Dr. Emmett Brown's house. She hadn't seen him in a while, and this worried her. People made fun of her for it, but she didn't really care. She preferred to stand out in the crowd, rather than blend into it.
When she got to his front door, she was surprised to see Doc's other friend (as well as hers) Marty McFly, thumbling under the doormat for Doc's key.
"Hey, Marty."
Amy greeted him. Marty looked at her and smiled.
"Hey Amy," He
greeted her back, turning Doc's key into the lock, opening the
door. "What's up?" he asked her, both of them walking in the
house. Amy shrugged.
"Nothing much. Same old—Oh, geez." She
groaned, seeing the mess in Doc's house. She sighed, trying to mop
it up. "Does he ever keep track of himself?"
------------
While she
cleaned up the mess, Marty took his mini guitar and plugged it into
the amplifier, turning the volume all the way up. He strummed a
single note, which sent him literally flying into the wall, slamming
into a bookcase. The books fell on him, and he heard hysterical
laughter. He rummaged through the books, and saw Amy laughing at him.
"Whoa." Marty said, looking at the speaker, which was now
destroyed. "Rock n Roll." Which only made Amy laugh harder.
The phone rang,
and Amy practically pounced on it, hoping that it was the Doc.
"Hello?"
"Amy, is that you?" she heard Doc's
familiar voice through the phone.
"Hey Doc! Where are you? Is
Einstein with you?"
"Lucy, don't worry—I'm fine and so
is Einie. This is important though—I need you and Marty to come
down to Twin Pines Mall at 1:15 am. It's very important."
"Wait
a minute…Doc 1:15 in the morning? Doc, what's this all
about?"
"You'll find out!"
"All right, Doc." A sound interrupted my thoughts. All the clocks in Doc's house started going off.
"Did my
experiment work?"
"What experiment?"
"I set all the
clocks 25 minutes slow!" Lucy's breath hitched in her throat, and
she said very slowly:
"Doc…are you telling me that it's
8:25?"
"Yes…" she groaned.
"DANG! I'm late for
school!"
