He was with his mother, shopping for tomatoes in the local market. Everything was fresh and crisp in the vicinity, and he couldn't help but smile at the wonderful morning sky.
A slight tug on his wrist told him that they were going to some other place now, probably to buy some more vegetables and fruits. Looking up, 6-year-old Uchiha Sasuke saw his mother beaming serenely at him.
"We'll go buy pumpkin next, Sasuke," she said sweetly, guiding Sasuke through the winding alleys of the market. Her son followed joyfully, eager to see more parts of the morning bazaar.
They arrived at the pumpkin stand 3 minutes later. Mikoto chuckled a little when Sasuke saw that the store was all out of pumpkins. "Well, we could always have pumpkin pie next week, ne, Sasuke?"
She waited for Sasuke to say that cute whine of his whenever he didn't get something he wanted, but none came. She looked down and saw Sasuke dumbfounded. A little girl of probably the same age was holding out a large pumpkin, purposely giving it to the Uchiha.
The girl had midnight blue hair and milky, lavender eyes that seemed to sparkle in the sun.
"You're not going to accept it, Sasuke?" Mikoto mused out. It seemed that Sasuke was too entranced by the girl's mesmerizing eyes that he didn't even notice that the girl was giving him the pumpkin for his favorite pumpkin pie.
Suddenly, a feminine voice from behind the little girl spoke to them, "Take it, please. My masters do not like pumpkin anyway."
Mikoto looked up and so another lady with the same milky eyes. She smiled and nodded, before nudging Sasuke on the arm.
The young Uchiha blushed lightly when he got out of his reverie, and took notice of the pumpkin before him. He looked questioningly at his mother and nodded quietly as he took the orange vegetable from the girl's hands.
"A-Ano, thank you, um…"
But the girl and her guardian had already left, leaving Sasuke unable to finish his statement of gratitude.
The light blush still hadn't left his face when they came home.
… "Want some pumpkin pie, Sasuke?"

"Smile for me," she said timidly, for inquisitiveness had already gotten the best of her.
He looked perplexedly at her in an empty sort of way and smirked conceitedly. "Why should I?"
Her answer shook him to the core and he hugged her even tighter than before.
