E/O Drabble Challenge: floor
Spoilers/Notes: I like third person writing, but it is still an inanimate object viewpoint. I was thinking about the infamous "pen to Dean's lips" screencap, and I thought Sam deserved a similar moment. No spoilers, could be any time, any where, etc.

Taking Notes
Sam was pensive, gripping then pen tightly. His hand was warm around its body, and the sweat on his palms was just beginning to become apparent. The writing paused and then the pen was moved up to rest against Sam's lips for a moment before it was rushed back toward the table, tapping frantically. Then, suddenly, back to tense writing.
The pen jumped with Sam when his phone buzzed loudly beside them.
"Bobby? Yeah. Yeah, I got it. I'll be there."
Air rushed past the pen as it fell to the floor. It was okay. Sam had his brother to save .
