Chapter 1

A small yellow speeder flies through the bustling atmosphere of Corusant. The sky, still partly cloudy from the morning's rain, just starting to turn shades of pink. The driver looks to the left and smiles while passing a tall building with a large, windowed balcony at the top. Next to him, a smaller being with her arms folded and slouched in the passenger seat continues to complain.

"But Master, meditation training? We did that ALL the time as younglings!" I want to get back to battle. Why does everyone on the council see me as a little kid?

"Asoka, meditation isn't just something for younglings. It's essential to your training." Anakin had explained it to her already, but it wasn't too long ago he wanted to skip meditation training with Obi-wan, so he decided to be patient. "It's partially my fault we're here. You're supposed to be practicing meditation techniques in the spare moments between our other training. When Master Kenobi asked how often we meditated, I said we were too busy with the war. So he decided that we should take a break from combat, if we're so busy... He is right though, your training should be my top priority as your master."

"Master, we're in a war! I completely understand if my training wasn't your top priority when Dooku was after us, or Bane, or whoever!"

He gave a slight smile, "Thanks Asoka, but I do think this time off will be beneficial for the both of us. If the council wants us back on Corusant, who am I to stop them."

Asoka still felt sidelined, but maybe the relaxation will be nice. She tried to think of the last time she had down time. Maybe when she was on library security duty? No, it was only "supposed to be" down time. Cad Bane's and his Changeling associate snuck in the temple to steal the holocron. And I thought security would be boring she thought. Maybe this won't be so bad. Corusant was a busy place... anything could happen.

As her hopeful thoughts finally came through, they were pulling up to the temple.
