This was written by my little brother when he was ten. Who is very sadistic in my opinion.
The place where no one smiles
I went to the shops to get some supplies. I would be leaving for my new home in a desert. When I arrived, I was the only one smiling. And so I settled into my new home.
Over the next three days I became good friends with Diago. I asked him "Why does no-one smile?"
He replied, "Because of the demon in the mountains, the demon has threatened that anyone who smiles must die."
I thought for a while, "Then we must kill this demon!"
And so we went off to fight the demon that was on the black mountain. When we reached the top, we saw him. He turned and faced us; Diago shot the demon through the arm with his bow. The demon then threw a fireball at the two humans. This caused them to fall down the mountain.
They landed at the bottom with a 'crash' creating an indent where they landed. Diago fractured his elbow and his kneecap was bent backwards. As for me, I broke a hip and an arm. We both had serious burns covering our bodies.
We had to wait seven months for our wounds to heal. Then we practiced for twenty seven days in sword fighting and twenty one days using a bow and arrow.
One night I heard a scream I went outside to investigate and I found Diago dead in the pathway. I knew it was the demon, and so I wanted revenge.
I once climbed to the top of the black mountain and saw the demon. I got out my bow and arrow and the demon sliced it in half with a fire sword. I swung at him and cut his stomach. He then held his sword in both hands and did a stabbing motion I dived to the ground and his sword was stuck in the rock behind me. I picked up my sword and shoved it through his heart. He pulled his sword out with a puncture hole in his chest; he then sliced off my right arm, he then fell to the ground dead. I made it slowly down the mountain a trail of blood behind me.
I looked at the people in the village, everyone was smiling but me.
The next day I died, my grave was next to Diago's and it said "Heroes of the once called dark village, that saved us from the demon, May they rest in peace."
