Hello, everyone! Wow, it's felt like a lifetime since I uploaded on this site. Well, this story came into my mind after listening to the song "Be Still" by Kelly Clarkson ( I suggest you listen to it while you read this). This pretty much takes place before Bonnie and Damon meet Kai in 1994 so this is pretty much somewhere in the middle of those long, four months they spent isolated there. This is something that I feel would have naturally happened between them on the show ( here's to hoping it will ;) ) I mean these two beautiful people were stuck alone in a prison world, just them for company and they have a whole lot of sexual chemistry between them that needs to be explored. And this is to me what would've happened. Anyway, please leave comments! I would love to know if I haven't lost my touch yet lol. Here's to you Bamon fans out there.

A Moment Frozen in Time

Bonnie leaned on Damon's shoulder as they finished "The Bodyguard" for what felt like the hundredth time. She felt Damon's steady breathing as his chest rose up and down, he must have fallen asleep sometime through half, but she was wide awake, her heart pounding in her chest, as a potent feeling of longing took over her heart. The famous moment between Rachel Marron and Frank Farmer as they reunited in the airport at the movie's end played in front of her and for the first time ever she was extremely jealous of fictional characters. She was jealous of the warmth they must have felt as their bodies collided; Bonnie couldn't even remember what a warm body felt like. Damon and her have been stuck in this prison world for what has felt like a lifetime, although it has only been months. And for the first time in the long days they have been here she has felt no hope. She tried to hide it from Damon, knowing he'd get in one of his moods, but tonight was just one of those nights that there wasn't a thread of it in any part of her soul. She wanted to go home, desperately, but they hadn't found a way out of this hellhole… and what if they never do?

As she watched Rachel kissing Frank, a daring thought came into her mind, one she hadn't dared even to consider since knowing she was stuck with the very handsome male vampire sleeping soundly beside her. Damon had suggested once or twice for them to quench their desire with each other various times throughout the endless days of their solitary but always jokingly, like Damon always did, usually ending in their bickering.

"Come on, Bon Bon, what happens in 1994 stays in 1994." He would wink at her and then laughed as she threw Mrs. Cuddles at him. But tonight… tonight Bonnie wasn't feeling funny, she was feeling lonely. She needed to forget where she was for just one moment before she would completely lose her mind. She looked up to Damon beside her, still asleep, and slowly leaned away looking down at his peaceful form then her gaze went down to his lips.

Just a touch… he wouldn't even have to know.

She leaned down gently towards his lips and kissed him gently and breathlessly not wanting to wake him. His lips weren't cold, like she always thought a vampire's lips would be, but warm and soft and dare she say it, she didn't want to pull back. But a sudden movement from under her made her pull back quickly and she saw two aqua eyes looking up at her.

"Bonnie?" he whispered. "What the hell are you doing?" Damon whispered as he looked up at her confused. They stared at each other for quite some time and Bonnie found herself blushing from embarrassment. Oh great, now she'd never hear the end of it.

"I have no idea." She whispered back and then she tried to salvage a bit of her dignity as much as she could. "Sorry, that was a low point; just forget it ever happened, okay?" Bonnie answered with a little more strength in her voice and got up from the couch as quickly as she could. She wanted to go up in her room and hide away from Damon's pity filled eyes but a hand grabbing her arm stopped her.

"Wait." He whispered. She felt his hand turn her body around and when she looked up at him, she was surprised to see the same longing that was in her heart reflected in his eyes. That was the thing about her and Damon; she hid her heart away while his was on his sleeve. In a way, that's something she's always admired about him. Even with all the crap he's gone through for love and all the times his heart has been broken, he still wears his heart on his sleeve and she would never admit it out loud but Elena is one lucky woman to have this man's devotion. It's one of Damon's best qualities.

Bonnie felt Damon's arms wrap around her and he took her in an embrace that took her breath away. She didn't hesitate to wrap hers around his torso and squeeze tightly as she couldn't help but let the tears fall. Soon, she was sobbing in his arms, as she felt that familiar warmth around all her body that she yearned for. Damon kept very still, letting her cry, and after a few long moments when she finally calmed herself down he leaned back to look down at her. Bonnie was surprised, yet relieved, to see Damon's eyes red and his cheeks moist. It seems she wasn't the only one who needed this.

Damon slowly cupped her cheek as if weighing in her reaction. Bonnie didn't move, knowing what he wanted to do, and for the first time since she's known Damon, she wanted him to do it. He leaned in slowly and kissed her lips just as gently as she did his. They slowly moved their lips in rhythm, feeling it out, wanting to see if the other felt comfortable. To Bonnie's ultimate surprise, it felt like the most right thing in the world. She deepened the kiss, inviting Damon to take it a bit further, to which he obliged with a slight moan. Their desire soon took over them and soon enough Damon pulled Bonnie toward the couch, making her straddle him. Bonnie finally understood Elena's lust for Damon; his lips were intoxicating and almost addictive.

Oh God, Elena.

"Wait, stop." She whispered with almost no strength at all, "We can't." Bonnie said pulling back Damon's shoulders.

"Elena." One word, one name made Damon paralyze. They touched their foreheads together, breathing hard, their desire still very much tangible between them.

"You're right. Damn it, why do you have to be right?" Damon grunted as he squeezed Bonnie's waist. She understood Damon's frustration, she wanted to fill this longing as much as he did, but they couldn't risk doing something they'll regret.

"Let's not do something we'll regret later." Damon started chuckling as he leaned his head back against the couch.

"What?" She asked, slightly annoyed, not finding the situation very funny.

"What later Bonnie? When is that gonna be?" They locked eyes as Bonnie took in what he was saying. The familiar feeling of hopelessness took hold of her again. The feeling of hope she always had was eclipsed by her longing that she couldn't even feel it anymore. She couldn't even remember what she was hoping for. Could Damon be right? What if we never get out of here? What if all we have is right here, right now?

Bonnie took a deep breath and for the first time in her life she didn't care about the consequences. All she had was right now, in Damon's arms. She knew what tomorrow had to bring, the same thing it has brought each and every day they have been here. The constant solitary and endless days that filled her with emptiness. So she kissed Damon again before she lost her nerve.

The Witch found herself kissing the vampire with the urgency of a dying woman. She was surprised to feel Damon's hands pushing her back. Maybe he already started to regret what they were doing.

"Hey, slow it down. We have all the time in the world, remember?" He whispered gently. She thought she saw Damon smirk as he grabbed the edge of her white, wavy shirt and slowly tossed it over her head.

"Wow." He smirked and Bonnie's age old insecurities came crawling back.

"What?" She looked down to her black, lacy bra... Her good bra, thankfully, not that she was planning on doing this when she put it on.

"Little Gilbert was a lucky boy." She scoffed and tried to hide her blush as Damon actively flirted with her for the first time.

"Shut up." She leaned down to kiss him again in the same slow pace and she felt his arms wrap around her back making her moan lowly from the contact as she took Damon's words in. How could she forget that they were frozen in time? They weren't going anywhere any time soon. What was the rush? If anything Damon's beautiful way of slowly building her desire just made everything, even this prison world more bearable. Bonnie forgot all about 1994, her Grams, the endless empty days and just let Damon's hands and lips fill the rest of the blanks for the night.

She felt Damon move under her and he raised himself from the couch carrying her with him. Her reflex was to wrap her legs around his waist tightly as he carried her up the stairs, no vampire speed, and achingly slow laid her down on his bed.

"Hey, are you sure?" He whispered softly as he cupped her face. Bonnie saw another side of Damon, a softer one , the one she suspects he kept only for Elena.

"Yeah." Bonnie answered as she pulled Damon towards her slowly. That night Damon Salvatore made love to her for the first time and to her great surprise, it felt completely right.

...

Bonnie woke up to a warm body engulfing her from behind and she instantly smiled with her eyes closed.

Man, I really missed that feeling.

She turned around gently and laid on Damon's sleeping form, his chest rising and falling under her, and for that brief moment she let herself enjoy this moment of stillness in the night. This moment of just being able to lay in someone's arms and feel safe, hopeful and some kind of refuge. She didn't want the moment to end because she knew once it did, they would have to face the consequences of what they just did... various times.

Bonnie smirked because she knew that was her fault but there was just something in Damon's touch that was kind of addictive or maybe it was just her not wanting his warmth to end; she was so sick of feeling that absent cold that any warmth was just so filling for her. In fact, Bonnie was determined not to let it end. Maybe she could convince Damon that they should lay here in bed and not get up for the rest of their Groundhog Day.

It's not like anything's going to change.

Bonnie slowly moved on top of Damon, straddling him, noticing the clock said five a.m., they still have some time before the sun comes up and sheds light on what they did and the complicated and awkward conversation comes.

Bonnie let the slight darkness give her a kind of boldness and leaned down on Damon, her lips touching his lightly trying to wake him up. The third time her lips touched his she felt him stir.

"Are you trying to kill me, Bon Bon?" He said his voice a tad lower because he just woke up. She didn't say anything, just kept kissing him, trying to awaken in him again the longing that brought this night into fruition. It didn't take long before he returned the kissed, wrapped his arms around her tightly and switched her around so that he was on top of her making her feel whole again.

...

Bonnie shyly walked down the stairs wearing Damon's red, plaid shirt and some shorts; she could not for the life of her find her clothes. She walked into the kitchen, the familiar smell of pancakes engulfing her, not really knowing what to expect.

Last night was pretty unforgettable.

But she knew it was a meaningless mistake. She let herself be completely controlled by her emotions, she didn't think of the consequences, of what sleeping with Damon implied.

She entered the kitchen and saw Damon shirtless with jeans and barefoot making pancakes. Nineties music was on very loud and he apparently was in a very good mood in a shocking turn of events.

"Morning." She said, making herself known. Damon stopped his spatula mid-air as he looked over at her with an almost shy expression... it looks like she's not the only one who felt strange.

"Morning." he answered softly. She walked over and sat in the seat in front of him, not really looking at him but she felt his gaze on her.

"How'd you sleep?" She looked up at him and saw the smirk on his face. The teasing was good, it meant this conversation would be easier.

"Honestly... it's been the best night of sleep I've had since we've been in this hellole." She answered truthfully and saw Damon's surprise. It seems he wasn't expecting her to be so truthful.

"Same here." He whispered back and they stared at each other for sometime before she averted her eyes. Bonnie felt relief in knowing that she wasn't the only one who felt the same way... relieved but confused. This was getting out of hand, she needed to get to the point and fast.

"Look, Damon-"

"Bonnie, don't." Her eyes snapped up at him.

"I already know what you're gonna say and you don't need to."

"You do?"

"This isn't my first one night stand, witchy."

Ouch. Was that supposed to have hurt as much as it did? Anyway, she tried to shake that away and keep on with their routine bickering.

"Right, I forgot you have a Doctorate in those. So, tell me then, what are we supposed to say in the very awkward "morning after" talk?"

"Well, this is where I kind of strayed off-script. I'm usually gone by the time the girl wakes up." Damon says nonchalantly while taking the spatula and turning over a pancake. Bonnie couldn't help but scoff.

"That's romantic."

"One night stands aren't supposed to be, Bon Bon."

"Touché", she grunted in frustration," Then I don't know what to tell you Damon, I haven't really done this before, you know? The whole "screw em and leave em" thing."

"Really? I do it all the time." Damon flipped another pancake and put it on a a plate.

"I bet you do but, you see, Damon, I don't. I'm not the type of girl to just give myself to just anybody." To this, Damon stopped the spatula mid flip.

"Well, then, consider me honored." Bonnie blushed as she realized what she just said and averted her eyes from Damon's. She even rolled her eyes to try and make it seem like it didn't affect her.

"Anyway, um, so what do we do then?"She asked. Damon smiled at her shyness, no doubt. He must love seeing her squirm.

"Well, we could just... pretend it never happened?"

"I... I don't think I can do that." She barely whispered, regretting even saying that, since she kind of put herself out there again. His eyes lingered on hers and then he put the last pancake on the plate.

"Good... me neither. It's one of the few good memories I have of this place." She sighed, not knowing that she was holding her breath.

"Then... what?"

"Okay, then let's make a promise... we never speak about it again. Although, you gotta let me tease you at least once or twice or I'll get bored." She smiled and so did he.

"Deal. And once we get out of here, we never mention it." She felt hopeful again and she didn't want to waste it. She got up from t he chair and walked around the counter to get her plate.

"Deal. Shake on it?" He spread out his hand and Bonnie shook it.

"Deal." Bonnie wasn't expecting the sudden touch of his hand to make her relive every second from last night. The warmth in their joined hands made her want to find it again. Damon and Bonnie locked eyes, he feels it too, she knows it. He leaned in and kissed her and this time Bonnie didn't hesitate, she wrapped her arms around Damon's neck and he quickly set her up on the counter. She tangled her fingers in his hair making him give a groan that made her smile mid-kiss, she loved knowing that she wasn't alone in her confusion. But they had to stop... they can't do this , it will only complicate things more between them. If they do this again then that means it was more than a one night stand.

"Damon." Bonnie gasped his name in his ears and pulled him backward. "Stop."

Damon stopped and his eyes were wild and he was breathing hard already.

"We can't do this again." Bonnie whispered and Damon whimpered, touching her forehead with his.

"My God, we are pathetic. We didn't even last two seconds." Damon whispered.

They both burst into laughter and then Damon cupped her face.

"Just one more?" He asked her softly and she knew right then and there that she wasn't the only one fighting this. Bonnie nodded and Damon kissed her one last time, long and hard, before finally letting her catch her breath. It was like he was hoping the longing would stop with one final kiss. They finally found an answer to their survival and their endless solitude. They didn't want to let that go.

"Now, go up and change out of my clothes or I won't be able to keep the deal much longer." He said.

Bonnie got herself down the counter with Damon's help and realized something. She wasn't going to be able to keep the deal either. Because she now knows that the longing in her heart wasn't for human warmth anymore.

It was a longing for Damon Salvatore.
