Riley's POV
I was so nervous, like really nervous. It was the first time my father let me go to school with my best friend Lucas on the subway. I felt a rush of energy shoot threw me, I felt so like a rebel. Once Lucas and I have been friends for what seemed like forever. We were really close. I could tell him anything. I looked up to him and saw him smile as we walked down the steps. I smiled also and shifted my backpack on my back. I heard someone playing on drums and saw Lucas look to the side at a guy with long black hair.
"Weasel!" He called out and the man stopped playing to shake his hand.
"Lucas! What's up man? Who's the new chick?" This so called Weasel asked.
I blushed and pushed back and forth on my heels. "Chick. Down here I'm a chick!" I said happily. "No wonder my parents don't want me on the subway." I whispered to Lucas. He laughed and smiled at me.
We walked onto the subway and Lucas held onto a bar that was connected to the top, to the bottom. I held onto it too and looked around. There was so many people, so many different kinds of people.
"Whoa Riley, you don't do lip gloss." Lucas said as I applied it to my lips.
"What I forgot to mention is that I'm completely reinventing myself." I said proudly. "I ride the subway now, I have pretty lips now, and I'm just as cool as you now."
Lucas smirked and looked past me before looking to me again. "Oh yeah? Let's see how cool you can be when you look at her." He said nodding behind me. I raised my eyebrow and looked behind me before quickly looking back at Lucas with a stupid smiley and a muffed nervous laugh. He smiled and laughed lightly. "Yeah, you're going to need some lessons. Okay let me show you everything you're going to need to know about girls."
And with that Lucas walked over to the beautiful blonde girl sitting down in the corner of the subway. I watched closely and notice how Lucas was picking up the girl.
"Hi, I'm Lucas. We should go out some time. You make me really happy." Lucas smirked sitting next to her, and then looked at her hurt. "You never answer your phone. Why? You know what, I know why. I saw the way you looked one of my teammates at the baseball game." He sighed and shook his head standing up. "It's you, not me. We can still be friends, not really." He said walking back over to me and tucking his hands in his pockets. "She's single. We just broke up."
I looked at him shocked then looked back to see the girls face. She looked so confused. "Are you okay?" I asked Lucas. "Do we need to talk about it?"
Lucas laughed softly and then crossed his arms over his chest. "You still want to be like me?"
"I want to be exactly like you." I said excitedly. "I think too much and you don't think at all."
"See you, you get me. So let's not think." He smirked and plucked my fingers off the bar, making me fly back and land into the beauty's lap.
She caught be with her arms and wrapped them around my waist. I gasp and looked at her nervously, with a deep blush. "Hi." I breathed out. The blonde smiled at me. "We were just talking about you." She nodded and I continued. "You use to go out with my friend Lucas." I grinned and looked down at her arms.
"I'm Maya." She said and tightened her grip a little with a smile. Her voice made me melt and I could hear my heart pounding in my ears. She looked over my face and laughed. "Are you okay?"
I stuttered and nodded before speaking without thinking like Lucas does. "I think this is the best moment in my life." I breathed out.
Maya grinned and pushed some hair behind my ear. "Well, I sure hope so. No one randomly falls into people's arms for no reason."
