Summary: Taylor finally lets go of Joe
This is wrong but, I can't help but feel like
There ain't nothing more right babe
Misty morning comes again and I can't help but wish I could see your face
"I'll just be a minute, I promise." I said sliding skillfully out of the car.
My boyfriend honked his horn playfully as I walked in front of the car and I laughed all the way to the front door.
"How may I help you Miss?" The eager cashier asked.
"Um," I tapped my finger against my lip, studying the menu. "I'll have an extra large banana swirl in a dish and a gingerbread muffin."
The employee eyed me doubtfully. "That ice cream's for my friend." I explained. Well boyfriend actually, I added in my head.
Her expression relaxed. "That'll be $6.50 please."
I handed her the money and went to sit at a table while my order was being prepared.
That's why I love this place, they make all the food from scratch so it tastes really fresh.
As I texted Taylor in the car, I heard the bells to the store go off as someone walked in.
"Taylor?" The person asked.
I froze as I registered who it was; sure enough I turned around and there stood Joe.
Loved by millions, hated by me.
"Hey Joe," I replied calmly.
"Wow, I just can't believe it's you. I haven't seen you in so long! How are you?" I eyed him as he sat himself down easily.
"Good," I replied cautiously. "How are you?"
"Okay. I mean Nick has his own solo career now and Kevin's getting married. What's new with you?"
"Writing music, hanging with friends."
"You dating anyone?" Joe blurted out.
My eyebrows rose in surprise. "So we're getting right to the point?"
"Well it's just that I'm not dating anyone right now, so..."
I cut him off. "So what you don't have a girlfriend for once in your life and you come running to me? Sorry but unlike the rest of your Barbie girlfriends I can function on my own."
"I just thought that we could give us a second try." Joe said.
"Sorry even if I wasn't dating Taylor, I would never give us a second try."
"Order number 13!" The cashier called out.
"That's me," I got up to get my order and I could feel Joe's eyes boring into me.
"You know I might not be available when you change your mind," He said cockily.
I smiled and turned to him.
I placed a kiss on his cheek and before pulling away I whispered:
"Good-bye Superstar,"
Give me a photograph to hang on my wall,
Superstar
