He knew she probably wasn't coming back even before the letter came. He knew he shouldn't have let her and the others leave. He just knew.
"It's not going to be forever and it's our duty. Oh come on. Don't be like that...Come here, I'm not going to bite you."
He was more skillful with putting on the costume than he should have been. What could he say? His little sister had been angry with some of the other villagers because they teased him so much. So she had taught him to fight back. The make up was just part of the uniform.
Though, in retrospect, he shouldn't have worn the make up. If he had one of his infamous foaming fits, it would just become a mess. Sadly, he knew that from past experiences. Though, if that Water Tribe boy (what was his name again?) could wear the colors of Kyoshi proudly, so could he. He would just have to bring more make up and try to keep himself calm.
He had a friend who owned a boat, with his help he would leave Kyoshi. The young fisherman didn't want his friend to leave, however. "Listen, I'm just as upset as you. Just go back home. There's nothing you can do right now and I doubt your father can stand losing another child this soon."
"Suki's not dead. If she is...Well, I'm going to avenge her. It's that simple," he said stubbornly.
"Come on, we haven't left yet."
"She's my little sister. I have to protect her or, well, you know."
His friend rolled his eyes. "I've known you two for years. Suki was the one doing the protecting, everyone knows that."
"You think I don't know that? I do and I'm ashamed. This time, it's going to be different."
I have no clue where this idea came from. I wanted to do something with Suki and...I came up with this. Oh well.
