"Ask me again."

Deeks stopped, his hand on the door handle, and turned around to look at his partner, a confused look on his face.

"Deeks? Ask me again."

"Okay Kens. I'm gonna need a little help here. To ask you what?"

Kensi sighed. "You know what."

It took two seconds for Deeks to figure what she was talking about. He looked at her in utter disbelief. "You want me to… Really ?! Here and now ? For the record, we're about to break in the middle of a terrorist cell, this isn't exactly the right time."

"This is exactly the right time." Deeks looked at the gun he was holding. "Yeah, right. I took you to a beach two days ago to ask you that very question and you told me to shut up."

"You took me by surprise."

"That was the idea."

"I'm sorry I freaked out, but I don't really like surprises. But we're about to do what is possibly the most dangerous operation we've ever had to deal with and I want you to ask me again because I want you to know what my answer is before we go."

Deeks took a deep breath and stepped closer to her, cupping her face with his free hand. "Kensi Mary Blye, light of my life, would you marry me?"

Her answer was showing in her smile. "Yes."

Callen's voice suddenly filled their ears. "Congrats guys. Now would be a good time."
