Chapter 1: Prologue

Hi guys, my name is WhodatKoolcat and I have opened this new account and will try to be uploading stories as much as I possibly can! Just please don't hunt me down if I don't , I've got my GCSE's to deal with, OK! This first collaboration is with my best friend Deeptiger55 and she is awesome and you should definitely check out her stories!(ignore that she's speaking jazz) So this is my first ever story called 'Friend to Foe' collabed with Deeptiger55 and I hope you enjoy it!

'HELP!'

A shrill cry came from the tallest tower in the Mushroom castle, and as if on cue, Bowser bursts out of the stain glassed window, a distressed princess in pink casually flung over his muscular shoulder.

"BWAHAHAHAHA! The princess is mine, and in a few days, so will the mushroom kingdom! MWAH!" Bowser smirked at the Princess, much to her dismay, as his rotting, plaque covered teeth wasn't exactly a very pleasant sight.

"Anyways, don't even consider rescuing the princess, Mario, MY PLAN IS FLAWLESS!" Bowser gloated.

"So were the last 296 plans..." the Princess muttered.

"Quiet you! Catch me if you can!" And with amazing speed, Bowser bounded of the roof of the tower and towards Darklands, a distressed (yet quite irritated) looking princess in tow.

"HELP MEEEE!" the Princess gave out one more cry of distress before her bobbing blonde head dissapeared over the horizon.

All was silent, and every toad was glued to the spot, still staring blankly at the tower were their Princess had just been. And as if a football horn had been blown into everyone's face, the toads snapped into action, and panic took control.

"Help! Help!"

"The princess has been taken!"

"Oh no! What happened!"

"Bowser came up with the most complicated plan ever! He carried her by foot! How will we save her now!"

"Oh no! We'll never stop him!"

"We're doomed!"

"Wait, so you're telling me that you just let Bowser walk away with the Princess?"

Everybody's heads snapped in the direction of the speaker, their eyes widening in adoration. Jaws dropped, and toads bowed at the very prescence of this person.

Standing in the space before them, was the great and almighty Mario, eyebrow raised, still fit to play the part of a hero, despite the mud clobbering his face, and his overalls ripped at the legs.

"Everybody, Mario's here to save us!" came an enthusiastic scream from the mass of toads. The crowd erupted in cheers, whilst Mario simply shook his head in disbelief. He cleared his throat, and instantaneously, everyone fell silent.

"...Fine. I'll do it...again. But by the time I- sorry, me and Luigi come back, I expect some serious changes in this place. We may be a kingdom full of helpless, midget fungi , but you guys need to stand strong, and take lead in this sorrowful life that beats us to our knees. Nothing's gonna hurt as much as life. But it's not about hitting back. It's about how hard we can be hit, and still move forward. That's how winning is done!"

If the noise was loud before, now it was deafening. Toads flung their caps into the air in enthusiasm and the Toadettes...well, they weren't that enthusiastic. After all, what person would want to take their wig off?

The deafening cheers turned to roars as the second Mario brother clambered up the hill clad in the same uniform as his brother, only in green. Upon reaching the top of the hill, the younger collapsed in exhaustion, literally crawling to take his place at his brothers side.

"What the hell happened to you?" Mario questioned.

"Paratroopas...don't even ask..." Luigi panted.

"Umm, well anyways, now that my little bro's here, let the adventures begin! The princess will be back in no time!"

And with that, for the fifth time that month, the Mario brothers embarked on their risky expedition to save the princess of the mushroom kingdom, leaving the jelly-legged Toads to tremble in their wake.

"Hey...Does anybody know what a fungi is?"

A/N: Alright! Prologue up! It may seem a bit dull at first, but it will pick up! I hope you've enjoyed our first chapter, and we hope to update around twice a month minimum, unless we have exams when we'll have less time for writing.
