Love meets love

I opened my eyes. I woke up in a room that was not as grand as in the castle. Then I remembered where I was. Memories flooded into my mind; I would never want to experience the pain again. Eventually I would have to face the most fearful thing in my life. Deep inside me I felt as if love was the only thing that mattered at that moment. I closed my eyes and remembered those peaceful eyes and that sweet face I would never want to forget. I couldn't stop thinking about Prince Ijori: he was the one person I wanted to share my life with forever as long as I lived.

Then I thought of how grateful I was to finally be safe after almost never seeing my love or family again. Then with the strength I had after my muscle being worn out from the long, dramatic afternoon, I pulled the covers off the bed and sat up on the bed. I stood up and just in time, a gnome with brown hair and blue eyes walked into the room with a gnome dress. She spoke to me in a gnomish language. I was confused, trying to translate the words in my mind.

Then she realized I didn't understand her and said, "I brought you some clean clothes to wear. If they don't fit just tell me so I can adjust the dress."

I thanked her and she left. I got dressed and saw that she made the dress longer so it would fit me. Even though I shrunk a couple inches I was still a bit taller than the other gnomes. When I finished getting dressed I opened the door and headed to eat breakfast. As I headed to eat breakfast, I passed by what almost seemed a thousand rooms. After feeling like I was being thrown into the future, I finally found zhamM sitting eating mixed vegetables with bread. I sat down and then asked him about what had happened last night.

He took a big spoonful of vegetables and swallowed it down. He said "After you went to bed you were asleep for a week! We thought you were dead but then I remembered a memory that you were alive. Then we let you sleep until you finally woke up this morning. Uju reported the news that you were dead but he told Prince Ijori the truth that you were alive. He sent a letter last night and told me to give it to you".

Then he pulled out a small envelope out of one of his many pockets in his coat. He gave the letter and I looked at it. I finished breakfast and ran to the room. I finally found my room and opened the door and jumped on the bed. The bed springs threw me up into the air and then I fell back on the bed.

I opened the envelope with great care and it made a rip sound. I grabbed the paper and read it to myself

My love,

I am so sorry for the way I treated you. I should have known that Queen Ivi was lying. She was lying from the start. I should have known I am so sorry! As you read this letter I am traveling to Gnome Caves to see you my sweet heart. I feel so bad can you forgive me? Hope to see you soon my love.

Yes! I have been waiting for him to ask those same words all along. I put the letter on the bureau. I couldn't wait to see that face that gave me the strength I needed to face my fear. I felt myself blushing and felt happy that he forgave me. He cared for me and was taking a risk to even come to Gnomes Cave! For inside I think he knew that I loved him.
