Chapter 1, Demons of the Past
High Security Prison, Gotham
The storm began to role in from the south, the lightning lit up the prison yard as the thunder roared in the sky above. Darkness crept upon the walls of my cell, with only the roaches and the demons of my past to keep me company. I was called the Devil himself; I committed crimes against humanity, unbelievable experiments on the innocent, and many murders. It took all the effort of the Justice league themselves to bring me down and in the process they lost many comrades, all for what to protect and serve the innocent. Baaa! Nothing more than a lost cause for the weak and the naïve to chase after. Back in the prison I hear the alarms going off and, the guards scurrying throughout the facility 'must be another riot' I thought. No, this felt different like something from my past was near. Now the Lockdown alarms are going off and there is gun fire in the distance, only one man I know could cause such a commotion but why would he be hear. So many Questions so littlie time, for now explosions goes off, the building shakes and the sound of gunfire cease. All is quiet with the exception of the foot steps outside the hall of my cell. The foot steps stop in front of my cell door, as I hear the security locks shutdown I watch the large metal doors open to reveal a tall figure standing in the hallway. "It has been awhile…Slade." I said as I watched the figure walk into the light revealing a familiar black and tan colored mask. "Yes it has been awhile…old friend" replied Slade "It's time to revive the experiments once again." "And here I thought you only came by say hello to an old friend." I said. Slade merely chuckled "Save the pleasantries, there is work to be done…Horis, I believe I've found what you've been looking for so long." With his final statement I could only come to say "Really, in that case let's get going."
"I don't think so!" I remember that voice all to well, I turn around to see the one who brought me down "Batman, long time no see." I said with a smirk. "Not long enough if you ask me." He replied. "Now were is the bird boy, Robin right? Last time I checked you two were inseparable." I asked. "Off with his own team." "Yeah well it was nice caching up, but I have to now, Coming Slade?" I said. "Not so fast" I heard as I walked toward the door. "Aw Superman, I should have known you'd be close by" I said a ----- tone as he drew closer. "If you come quietly we can avoid any more blood shed" said the man of steel in an attempt to distract me from batman. As batman pulled out a neural stunner when he was hit from behind, "I hate to break up this happy reunion, but I do believe we should be going Horis," said Slade. With that statment a large dropship landed within the courtyard as Slade threw a stun grenade a Superman to cover our escape. As we entered the dropship I began to wonder why my old rival would go though so mutch trouble to free me "Tell me old friend what have you been up to these past seven years" I asked. He only looked at me and replied "I have been setting up everything for you to finnish what you started thirteen years ago, and I believe I found you the the perfect specimen". "Then we better get started" I said with a grinn " O, and who is this specimen you found".
