Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers, nor am I making any profit by writing this.
Author's Note: It's been quite some time since I've written anything… So, I do hope this will make up for my long hiatus. I may elaborate on the idea of TC having offspring and all. Depends on what happens. :)
Until then, reviews would be lovely!
Glutton
He was convinced; it was so easy to be hurt by family members, and it was ten times worse than the pathetic attempts of outsiders. In Thundercracker's case, he knew it wasn't just another crappy shot. His sibling failed to deal a fatal blow, hoping his elder brother would survive—of course, Skywarp would never admit to this.
Now, the cobalt seeker rested among the debris of their destruction, with only his thoughts to keep him company…
"Dew Point was shot down last night. You already know that, though." Cloudburst spoke timidly around his father, beating around the bush, so to speak. It didn't irritate the older mech, however; not like the juvenile thought it would.
Thundercracker lifted his amber gaze to the other seeker, regarding him with mixed emotions. He already knew why his son initiated such a conversation, and it filled his spark with dread—a fear only a parent would know. Cloudburst took a deep breath and glanced to the window as if to briefly overlook his escape route, but it was unnecessary; for Thundercracker was one of the most composed mechs of the Decepticon army, especially towards his own metal and blood.
"Acid Storm is looking for a replacement… I thought, maybe, this is my chance to prove myself; to become a Rainmaker," he said. "I graduated from the academy, practiced my flight patterns; I was at the top of my class." Thundercracker felt his lips twitch, a faint smile forming. Not to boast, but he knew his son was a damn good seeker and had great potential—more so than others. But, deep down, he was truly afraid. It felt like only yesterday, when Cloudburst pierced the cerulean sac that housed his fragile body throughout the gestation period. It felt like a dream.
"So, what do you think?"
The elder seeker stood from his seated position, a deep rumble resonating from his chest. His gaze dimmed in thought before his lips parted to speak: "Okay…" he said, "Just promise me you'll take care of yourself." Cloudburst had a smile that nearly split his face in two. He was overwhelmed with excitement, but one look from his superior officer had the youth remembering his place.
"Yes, sir."
That was the last time Thundercracker saw his offspring. He heard rumors that the trine had been in hiding after the Autobots secured their headquarters, and waited on the opportune moment to strike. But that was many years ago. The seeker exhaled deeply and glanced around the pile of junk that was now his tomb. "I wonder what happened to the Rainmakers," he murmured gruffly before allowing himself to fall into a light sleep, led only by his memories; seemingly a glutton for punishment.
