Sasuke: Blood and Poison

This fanfic was written before the current events of the manga Sasuke has returned to Konoha after Orochimaru was slain. He no longer seems at home and his eyes see his old allys yet his mind finds them enemies to his own cause.

Sasuke Uchiha: Taste of Blood and Poison

Sasuke was back in Konohagakure and Orochimaru was announced dead. He walked down the street in his black old attire but still kept his katana on his back as it was now his own weapon. He seemed to grow to resent this place and every step he took in it seemed painful and sickening. He felt like he was poisoned and the poison forced him forward into this place that was like a prison to him now. He placed the academy and saw Iruka directing and teaching academy students. Sasuke felt the surge to strike them all and kill the future of Leaf shinobi before they are strong enough to pose any threat. Their faces shined with promise and Sasuke knew the next generation of champions were scattered among the common students. To ensure none continued he needed to kill them all.

Sasuke's hand trailed back to grip his sword but he felt something grab his wrist and halt him. Sasuke's eyes became scarlet and he turned to notice Kakashi had grabbed his wrist. The Jonin has great timing. Sasuke thought peering at the masked face of his old sensai with somewhat of recentment. He pulled his arm away from Kakashi and went off into a sprint hoping to escape him. The areas around him seemed to darken and grow into shadows and morph into the abyss. A taste like blood took hold on his tougue and he couldn't escape the bitter blood he tasted. Sasuke collapsed in an alleyway by some trash piles and laid there for hours.

When he regained conscienceness, Sasuke was in the hospital. The white room seemed to mock the experience he just went through. The shadows seemed to be gone now and the blood taste also seemed to pass. He found that is blade was on a nearby table…Sasuke quicky seized it and jumped up from his hospital bed. Sasuke infused chakra into his sword and slashed the large window pane twice…one vertical slice and another horizonal. As the wind struck the pane it shattered into thousands of shards and rained down to the street leaving an open escape for Sasuke. He heard the door creak open and saw Sakura in the doorway. I don't want to have to kill her. I may have though…she is coming too close for her own good.

Sakura's eyes flashed as she saw Sasuke with his sword and the shattered window infront of him. "Sasuke! What are you doing?" The pink haired girl demanded making a fist and staring at the Uchiha boy with worry and reason.

"Escaping." That was all Sasuke had to say to Sakura and that is all he wanted to say.

"But…Sasuke." Tears formed in the girl's eyes like foam does out at sea. "You're home. You are back where you belong. You're home."

Sasuke's face became inarticulate and no emotion was expressed. "Hmm. Sakura…" His face didn't change as his voice took on a low almost evil tone. "I'm too much like Orochimaru to live here. History repeats itself…" Sasuke's voice kept that tone but his face now molded into an evil glare. "Naruto will replace Jiraya in the future summoning toads and all. You will replace Tsunade in the future being a great medical ninja. As I…will replace Orochimaru in time and most likely I will be back to invade Konoha once again." Sasuke ran down the outer wall of of the hospital perfectly balenced and ran out towards the main gate.

He was stopped by Naruto Uzumaki and they were forced to fight each other yet again. In mid-fight, Sasuke retreated over the gate away from Naruto saying to him as he faded into the woods. "The Sound will rise again…"
