Basic Summary: Writing Challenge #2: Sharing Inspiration: Lyrical Singer- "The sunlight filtered through the branches of the great oak to gently illuminate the lovers sleeping peacefully amongst the fallen leaves."

The sunlight filtered through the branches of the great oak to gently illuminate the lovers sleeping peacefully amongst the fallen leaves. After a hard won political battle to lift the ban on magic in Camelot Merlin and Sefa could finally enjoy a well deserved rest. It was a blissful slumber and filled with dreams of the glorious future they would create. Neither of them had ever been more content than in this moment as the would-be court sorcerer held the queen's lady- in- waiting in his arms. It was sheer luck that allowed him to find her amidst his wanderings, and he swore never to let her slip through his fingers again. He couldn't hate her and neither could Gwen, not when Morgana was the true culprit. Sefa was a pawn and similar to him in many ways. They`d both been blindsided by their unwavering devotion to a single person. Tragic as it was, the couple couldn't truly be free until death severed the ties of those they`devoted their lives to. Now they could live for themselves as they should have all along.

A fallen leaf landed on Merlin`s nose, making him sneeze and he offered Sefa an apologetic smile when she awoke. The druid girl smiled up at him, eyes heavy with sleep and snuggled 'd decided to have a picnic in the forest`s clearing under the shelter of an ancient were ready to return to the castle just yet and napping in this cozy place had been far too setting sun peeked behind the rolling hills in the distance. Merlin sighed, knowing they must return to the castle soon. As always there was much work to be done and never enough hours in a day. The couple reluctantly gathered their belongings, heading toward the horses beside the dirt path.

"I must look awful after sleeping on the ground," Sefa complained, patting down her slightly frizzy hair.

"You look fine," Merlin assured her, taking Sefa`s hand and helping her onto the horse.

"But I`m a lady now. I have to be more conscious about my appearance."

"You were always a lady," he teased, eyes shining with mischief. "I would know."

"Oh, shush," she replied, pretending to be offended. "You know very well what I meant. One more cheeky comment like that and you'll be sleeping alone tonight."

She laughed when he started to pout, but they both knew she could never say no to him. Just as he couldn't refuse her wishes when she gazed at him with wide, pleading eyes. They had the most generous hearts in all of Camelot with Queen Guinevere being the only exception.

After Merlin mounted his horse, the pair galloped back towards the castle. A giddy rush of excitement filled their hearts...for The Golden Age had begun.
