AN: I do not own Stargate. This was a challenge from livejournal that I decided to share with you all. The challenge went like this. A marriage proposal, in any fandom, with any characters, and the words Don't you think this is an inopportune time for a marriage proposal? I hope I did the challenge justice with this snippet. It's not beta read so if you see any mistakes let me know.
Marriage Proposals
Daniel drooped in his chair. He was glad that he had deleted a portion of the tape before he handed it to Bregman. The man had been insistent on seeing the film of the poor airman's words to his wife. His heart constricted as he remembered what else was on that tape.
He drifted off into an uneasy slumber that was haunted by the memories of staff blasts echoing in his ears. The dream sequence started up instantaneously. Her face as she worked on the airman. Her giggle as he blurted out. "Janet, would you marry me?"
The airman's huff and roll of the eyes as he snarled out, "Don't you think this is an inopportune time for a marriage proposal?"
"Inopportune maybe." He said, with a grin at the wounded man. "Away from all of our friends who would make a huge deal out of it. Yes."
"Daniel, sweetheart. . ." Janet responded. Her face blanched of all colour. Her eyes rolled back into her head and she fell.
"Janet." Daniel screamed as he woke up shaking like a leaf. He was certainly glad that no one but himself and that one airman had witnessed Janet's death.
