The girl skipped along inside the woods, not having a care in the world. She thought her parents wouldn't care if she was just a little late to get home, for she had always played in the woods alone every day. Even though she had no one to play with, that's okay with her. The sun was setting, a beacon for the girl to head back home. She comes to a stop at a familiar spot, the spot where she had left a bright blue ribbon to help her not get lost. But, the ribbon was gone without a trace of anyone coming by. It was growing darker, and the girl was starting to get worried. Her nerves tightened, a frequent feeling: fear.
A twig snapped, and the girl's nerves break. She ran forward, yelling out for her mother and father. The dark woods didn't give the girl a chance to cooperate and she slams into a tree. The girl stumbles back, letting out small whimpers as she cried. I'm so lost and afraid, the girl thought, How will I ever make it back home to my mother and father?.
A twig snapped again. Nerves shot from the girl's stomach and up. The floor inside the woods was interrupted from stillness, something stepping on it. The girl's hope picked up, figuring that someone came to find her. "Mother! Father!" The girl turns around with a welcoming smile. The smile disappeared once the girl catches a tall silhouette in her sight. Her eyes widen in fear, feeling the need to get away. But she couldn't, she couldn't stop staring at the figure, she couldn't move.
The figure slowly extended a long shadowy appendage to the girl, nearly touching her shoulder and neck. Another appendage extends to the frightened girl. The tall figure shadowed over the girl. She stared up at the darkened face, her eyes like that of a cornered mouse. Darkness engulfed the small girl.
Many people searched for the girl. But, luck was never on their side, and little Miranda was never found that night.
An introduction of a horror story I'm writing up. Not sure weather or not to put it up on here.
In a way, it is kind of a fanfiction :/
