The princess and the pauper I own nothing. There said and done on with the story.
Long ago in a village on top of a cliff at the same time two identical baby girls were born. One was a princess, the king and queen were over joyed and princess Kikyo would only have the finest of things. The second baby girl was named Kagome, her parents were just as happy as the king and queen were but they worried they did not know how they were going to care for her when they were so poor.
Over the years Princess Kikyo became a very spoiled princess. She did well in her studies but no one in the palace like her, except her parents. She was rude to all the servants there and made them do every little thing for her. Come to think about it she could not do the little's thing by herself. She really did get all the finest things that her parents said she would get. When she wanted something she got it right then and there. The villagers did not really know the princess since she hardly ever visited the village. They were the lucky ones unlike the servants at the palace. Heck the only servant to be able to tolerate her more than thirty minutes was Miroku and he had the name as the pervert of the palace but he would never try anything with the princess. That was just nasty! Anyway Princess Kikyo became a self-centered spoiled princess.
Unlike the princess, Kagome was kind hearted person and always tried to help people. But she was in debt to Madam Barb for her parents borrowed money from her to take care of their baby girl. To pay back the money they borrowed Kagome works for her. It's not the easiest job to do. She has to clean the whole house each day, make all the meals, do the laundry, fixes anything that needs fixed, and go to the village to get whatever Madam Barb needs. That's a lot of work for one girl. Everyone knew her in the village and they loved when she had to get things for Madam Barb because she would spend longer than what she needed to so she can help, play with the children, and if she was lucky she got to talk to her two best friends that work at the palace. From the things that they told her she is glad that she works for Madam Barb and not the princess. She thought nobody was worse than Madam Barb but the princess is much worse.
With two very different live, it's not a surprise that the two identical girls never met. With Princess Kikyo always in the palace saying that the village was too nasty to visit and with Kagome not being able to leave Madam Barb's house without her say so. No wonder they never met.
But there is a little thing called fait saying that the two girls would meet one day. It looks like that day is coming up faster than the two girls realized it. For the King and Queen are visiting the kingdoms minds today and when they get there they find that there is no more gold left in them. The kingdom was now bankrupt.
When the King and Queen get back to the palace they try to think of something that they could do that would help them. Only if their trusted adviser Naraku was there to help but he was away on a long journey. They needed to do something quickly but what? Then it struck them. Nearby lived a rich young king who was seeking a wife.
The King and Queen came up with the perfect idea to safe their kingdom and so that the people of the kingdom would not suffer anymore. They would have Princess Kikyo marry the young rich king.
