Toss, kick, miss. Toss, kick, miss. Toss, kick, miss. Jean Havoc found his young friend, co-worker, and current object of his affection Kain Fuery locked in that cycle. Kain's military jacket was neatly folded and in a chair, the male standing in the center of his small office holding a cloth ball filled with small beads and sewed up. He seemed rather frustrated and gently tossed the sack up again, trying to bounce it back up with his foot. When the sack hit the ground, he sighed.

"Keep trying, Kain. You'll get the hang of it soon enough. Took me a bit to get it down myself. So glad Mrs. Hughes made these for all of us." Jean said from his spot against the door frame.

Kain spun around and stared at the second lieutenant. "How long have you been watching me?" he asked, his high tenor voice seeming even higher in his flustered state.

"Long enough to see you miss the ball a few times," he replied with a grin as he stepped into the others tiny space. "May I?" he asked, holding a hand out for the toy.

"Of course," was the meek reply to the surrender of his toy. Kain stepped to the doorway and caught Jean's jacket once the elder tore it off and flung it carelessly aside.

Jean sighed and closed his eyes, feeling the weight in his hand. As he tossed it up, he opened his eyes and smirked. He tapped it with the side of his foot a few times before catching it and giving it back to Kain, who stared at him in shock.

Kain blinked as Jean took his cigarette box out of his coat pocket. He placed the object in his mouth and gave Kain a questioning glance. "Teach me to play, Havoc-San!" he whimpered, bowing his head slightly.

Jean smiled and rested a gentle hand on the younger's shoulder, causing him to look up. He smiled. "Of course, but how about we get some dinner first? My treat…"

Kain smiled appreciatively. "I'd like that."

"So it's a date, then?"

"Date?"

"Yeah, I mean…you should've realized I liked you. Blame the 'sack, but guess it makes you confess things you normally wouldn't tell."

"I…I l-l-like you too, Jean." Kain stammered, looking up through his glasses with a blush on his face.

Jean smiled and hugged him. "Glad to hear that…"
