Mikasa made her way about the compound, a happy smile curved the corners of her oriental lips upward as her dark ravenous locks bounced neatly around the length of her shoulders. The sun was out, and she didn't have much to do today (besides the fact of looking out for Eren.) That left her with a slight predicament...just what could she do?
Too sore and achy from the day before exhibition outside the walls, training and or sparring didn't seem like the most pleasant idea. Whenever she tried to make contact with someone else, per say her friends, she was always cast aside and ignored. It was extremely unusual. Jean was flaunting his stuff to Marco. Sasha munching away on potatoes. Hanji experimenting with a new pair of titan pets. Everyone had something to do!
However, there was someone she could talk too. Corporal Levi Rivaille. Although their past interactions had gotten off on the wrong foot, things had seemed to have settled down a bit. The two no longer casted each other death glares while passing in the halls, but instead said "Hi." He sometimes even smiled. Right at the moment, visiting with the short French man seemed better than helping Hanji recruit Eren for her experiments.
Mikasa made her way quietly to her higher ranked officer's room, her usual meek demeanor now taking the place of her just moments before jovial one. Coming upon his closed door, she knocked and hesitated a moment, waiting for an answer. However, upon no reply she turned the knob and entered the room.
Automatically she was greeted by the unpleasant scowl of the Corporal. He stood from his desk, where presumably he had doing document work, and walked over to Mikasa. "Oi, what is it brat?" He snapped unhappily.
Mikasa jumped at the roughness in his voice. Usually, no persons would have an effect on her such as this, but Levi was different. He actually scared her. With as strong a voice she could muse she responded, "Corporal. I believed you would like his company. You're always alone in this little room by yourself. It must be stressful."
"That is enough Ackerman." He responded shortly. Although, by this time his facial features had seemed to soften, and his posture no so aggressive. "You may help me with documenting, and that is all. I don't need a brat like you drooling all over my work. If you really do get bored, you can go help the new recruits with cleaning duty in the mess hall."
She couldn't help but smile a bit, giving the male a slight nod. "Yes, thank you Rivaille."
With that Mikasa followed the male to the desk in the corner of the room. Rivaille pulled up a chair for her and she sat down. Immediately her and the Corporal got to work.
Maybe their day wouldn't be so boring. After all, right after they at down they began to laugh and joke.
But the day was just beginning.
