Hi everyone! So this girl I know kind of inspired me to start writing again, because she's amazing. I don't know where it's going, and will gladly take prompts unless I'm suddenly hit with a burst of inspiration.

Kara had always been interested in human history. Ancient artifacts, linguistics, artistic movements and the cultures of peoples long forgotten. As a young girl on a new planet, everything about Earth fascinated her. In particular, how the Earth on which she now lived- with all it's little societal intricacies- came to be. Even garage sales attracted her curiosity. Alex had to beg Kara sometimes to not buy the things she found while wandering through someone's no longer wanted goods.

("It's just junk Kara."

"No, it's part of someone's history! And it's cute!"

Alex's sigh could be heard across the world, but maybe that was just Kara. Either way, she'd had to promise never to buy a portrait of a random woman and her three cats again. Disappointing.)

That desire to learn more about this planet, to learn more about its past, carried on into her young adult life. It's what lead her here today.

It was more than an honor to be accepted in the Cat Grant's summer archaeological internship program. She only took the most promising of students. Kara didn't honestly think she'd get accepted when she first applied. But here, in her hands, was the acceptance letter.

Kara stood in place, jaw slack, and stared at it for a good five minutes before she actually registered what she was reading. That's when the pure joy started to bubble up and out of her throat in a squeal of happiness. She bounced in place excitedly for a second, arms waving about in triumph, then ran off to find Alex and tell her the good news.
