Those Three Words
Nagata Shinichi x Kaguya Suguha

"Shinichi-kun!"

Shinichi stuck his head out of the room upon hearing his girlfriend's voice in the kitchen. He sighed and walked downstairs.

"Yes?" He found Suguha wearing an apron over her clothes and fussing about in the kitchen.

"Come and help! Onii-chan and Asuna-san will be here soon," Suguha complained. They had invited the newly wedded couple for dinner. Shinichi sighed again before he walked over to grab plates from the shelf and started to place them on the table. After that he set up the cups and utensils while Sugu proceeded to cook. He didn't hate her brother but, he had been busy playing video games.

When she was done, she placed the food onto a plate and placed it in the middle of the table before taking off her apron and hanging it up. Shinichi watched as she frantically went about the room, her expression filled with stress and worry. Sugu passed by Shinichi and before she could get away, Shinich grabbed her hand and pulled her back to his chest. Shinichi prepared for a punch or a kick but none came, much to his surprise. He rested his head on her shoulder and wrapped his arms around her.

"You are way too stressed about one simple dinner," Shinichi said. He felt her hands fall on top of his before turning around to face him. Shinichi stared into her beautiful obsidian eyes. He stroked a strand of hair back to its place behind her ear. She gave him a gentle smile.

Ever since they have gotten together, both of them have changed. Sugu doesn't hit him quite a lot as she used to and Shinichi's courage to do things spiked. Sugu placed a hand on Shinichi's cheek.

"I can't help it. I haven't seen my brother in so long and I just feel the need that everything has to be perfect," she said.

"You already are perfect Sugu," Shinichi replied and kissed her forehead. Sugu's face flushed red and Shinichi chuckled.
Oh, how he adored Sugu's embarrassed state. He took her hand and led her into their balcony.

"But the food," Sugu mumbled. Shinichi shook his head to shush her. He spread out her arms and told her to close her eyes.

"Feel the wind? It reminds me a lot of Alfeim Online," Shinichi whispered before taking her arms and closing it around herself so that he was hugging her from behind. Sugu leaned all her weight back and closed her eyes. The stress that she had been feeling not too long ago gradually started to disappear.

She loved it. She loved how Shinichi could take her mind away from everything. She couldn't have asked for a better boyfriend than him and she regretted treating him so badly before, although it had all been a joke then. She hadn't realized back then that Shinichi was the one for her but she was glad she did now.

"Sugu," Shinichi interrupted her thoughts.

"Hmm?" Sugu replied, her eyes still closed. She felt the wind blow gently, providing a cool breeze.

"I... I.. Sugu.. I love you," Shinichi blurted. Sugu's eyes snapped open. She turned around and met his eyes. It was full of love and honesty. It was the first time he had said that to her and to see that he meant it, brought tears to her eyes. Shinichi waited anxiously for an answer and panicked when he saw her eyes water. Caressing her cheek, he chuckled.

"Why are you crying?" He asked.

"I'm just... Happy." Shinichi let out a sigh of relief.

"I love you too," Sugu said and wrapped her arms around his neck. Shinichi smiled before he leaned down and allowed their lips to meet.

No words expressed how happy Suguha felt at that moment.
