THE NIGHT
Enveloped in darkness, lit with tiny stars,
Here comes the night,
After the sun, and before the light.
Walk down the empty lane, when all lay asleep,
To witness silence, hindered by the crickets,
And fall in to yourself, down in there deep.
While you walk down that lane,
Don't you do the things mundane-
Dream- not on your bed, but on your feet,
Dream while treading the moonlit street.
Close your eyes, but not to fall asleep.
Close them to wake up, and take a big leap.
Sing a song, but not a lullaby.
Take yourself down the memory lane,
And hum an old-school spree.
To lead nowhere, but to take you everywhere,
Here comes the night,
After the sun, and before the light.
Don't slump, or be exhausted.
Sit upright, all rejuvenated.
Remember, you have just left the precious light behind.
Where you shone brighter than the sun- keep that in mind.
And now, welcome the darkness, not so sinful.
It's not only dark for the song to end with a beautiful tune.
It's not only dark for a sin to occur, in the place of a boon.
It's not only dark for the clouds to cause a sultry noon.
It's not only dark when behind the dark sky, hides the moon.
It's dark to begin a new song, and so ends the old one.
It's dark to wash the dirty sins, and new hearts are to be won.
It's dark to endure the sultry noon, with some utter careless fun.
Its dark when after a long day, goes down the shining sun.
Embark a new journey, with every rising sun.
Nurture a new dream, whenever dark it turns.
To touch a new height, with all your might,
To possess a sight- fresh and bright,
Here comes the night,
After the sun, and before the light.
